Query for status code 84/86, grouped by tape library
We have two StorageTek SL8500 running most of our tape backups, and they are located in two different facilities. The one facility is not optimal and we want to compare drive read/write errors between the two libraries to see if the poor facility is having an effect. My initial idea was an SQL query joining the domain_JobArchive table (for the statusCode column) with the domain_TapeLibrary table (for the serialNumber column). This did not work, as the count of status code 84 and 86 was the same for both libraries The problem is that the domain_JobArchive does not store the statusCode information by anything I can use to distinguish the libraries, as far as I can tell. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance. CasparSolved1KViews3likes3CommentsOpsCenter Deployment Reports Username/Password - Authentication
Hello everyone, For anyone who runs into the issue laid out here: (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/opscenter-netbackup-user-name-and-password ) I found today, through trial and error, that the username and password you use for this has to be valid on both the NetBackup master server you are connecting to AND the agent server you are using for data collection. Good luck! Pat385Views0likes0CommentsOpsCenter 7.6.0.1 Email Notifications
I need help/guidance in creating notifications for failed backups that are getting backed up through a query policy. We work in a hospital environment and for some of our applicaitons the system analyst has to be notified the job failed/completed because of regulations. When I go to selet the client, my only options are media server. Individual clients are not showing through a vmware query policy. Any suggestions?382Views1like1CommentWhere is my space? (Opscenter Reporting)
OK, so long story short the past week my 5220 appliance has been close to useless. While things hummed along nicely for the initial months (4), as expected space usage slowly began creeping up. First 60% and then 80%, but it sat in the 80's for a number of weeks, so it seemed this is where we would sort of plan to be. Well, no, within roughly 1-2 weeks, we went from this acceptable capacity to 100%. Yes, 100%, someone set highwater to 100% and in the end our appliance was cooked, Status 129 all the way, restores were not possible either, so we turned to support. After several days of cleaning things out, we managed to get to a point we could at least get the appliance online again. However, by no means did this mean we could use it. The appliance functioned as a media server, reading VM's, sending them to a data domain appliance and it seemed we were in the clear while we cleaned up more space on the 5220. But, as luck would have it, the DD also filled and we resorted to using advanced disk to stage data and then SLPs to send it to tape. Long story short, we are just getting by as things are made useful again and the only way to make the 5220 useful is to free up lots of space, so the plan is to get the largest systems off of it. I guess I would rather have several systems use the appliance and one write to tape as opposed to several to tape so that one can use the appliance. My goal is to get a report out of opscenter that tells me what is using all of my space. I expired image after image, but each time I did I did not gain any space. In talking with support this is normal with deduplicated data and the images as each can be really small. Therefore, I need to find the ones that are really big and get them off of there until we can manage to get more appliances to increase capacity. I hunted around in opscenter, but nothing appeared to be the report I am looking for. All I want is a list of sort that says, these 5 machines use 10TB while these 300+ use 50TB and then just show me what each system is using so I can dupe those to tape and expire the images off disk. Is such a report possible? Be it SQL or with the Wizard this report would help me in a huge way. Thanks1.1KViews1like2CommentsAll Failed Backups Template
I am trying to customize the All Failed Backups report to show all failed backups for a full backups of our Exchange databases and have them emailed to my nightly so I have verry fast notification to any failed backups. I have the report narrowed down fine and the schedule set, however as the report has job directory in its list of properties, each job failure has multiple rows in the report and it makes it quite hard to read. I have tried to remove theis property but the rows are still there. Does anyone know how to further modify this to get one row for one failed job, or a custom SQL report to do the same thing?Solved570Views0likes2CommentsBackup Exec Data Collector in OpsCenter

Hello, I have installed OpsCenter Agent 7.1 on a server running BackupExec 12.5 (Win2k8 R2) I have created a new agent & then a BackupExec collector under OpsCenter. When i go to Settings > Configuration > Agent i can see the newly create agent/host i just added. When i drill down into it i click on the Symantec Backup Exec > Data Collection Status tab i can see Job, Media, Policy & Schedule & Tape Drive info all completed and last run time. Status = Enabled Under Monitor and with having the Backup Exec server selected, no data shows up. It has been like this for a few hours. Hi, I have just migrated my HP-UX master sever onto RHEL, I have retained the hostname but the IP address has changed, the migration and catalog import went great, I have had ny network teams change the DNS entry for the new IP and have now got all my clinets talking to the new RHEL master server. I am now trying to get the RHEL server to talk to the Wintel OpsCenter, I have made sure that the hosts file is correct with the right details of the master server and the RHEL server has entries in the hosts and also the bp.conf for the OpsCenter server, I can ping both sides and can nslookup both servers, I can use bpclntcmd from the RHEL master to the OpsCenter server using the hn and ip switches and the same from the OpsCenter server to the RHEL Master. When I try to add the RHEL master to OpsCenter using the defaults it cannot locate the Master Server, I am not using agents and have never had an issue with any of my HPUX servers. Master Server is running v6.5.5 and the OpsCenter is at v7.1.0.1 and I already have my HPUX master servers (also running v6.5.5) working. Thanks in advance KevSolved485Views0likes1CommentSome way to tell how many tapes I am using a month
I am about to separate my DEV envrironment and PROD environment. We are going to create two logical libraries and I am trying to figure out how many tapes we are using a month so we can make sure we have enough new tapes to rename for one of the environments. Can anyone help me out? I figured there might be a report in OpsCenter but if there is a better way I am all ears. Thanks, Tara664Views0likes5CommentsUsing OpsCenter/Analytics to show backup times
Hello, Does anyone know how to use Ops Center/Analytics to create a report that will show what time the first backup starts and what time the last backup finishes? It seems it should be a modification of the backup window report but looking for any input. Thank you.317Views0likes2Comments
