Symantec 5230 Appliance - Disk Space Warning Message
I am receiveing an emailalert (Warning) each morning relating to disk space utilisation on the de-dup pool in my 5230 Appliance (which is at 80%) and wish to raise the threshold for the warning to 85%. The appliance is sitting steady at 80% so I am not too concerned. Where can I change the limit ? Thanks, AJSolved1.6KViews3likes3CommentsSNMP configuration for 5020-DeDupe appliance & 5220-MSDP

How often will Rebasing run on my 5220? is there a way to monitor other then crcontrol --rebasestate. I'm looking to see when it started and how far along it is in the process. Also can I be notified when it starts and stops? Maybe with opscenter? Thanks PatSolved1.1KViews2likes8CommentsNetBackup failures to write to Windows Event Log
Ok so the gist of it is we have a NetBackup Appliance that is Linux and most if not all servers being backed up are Windows. We want to be able to use the Application log in Windows Event Viewer to determine if a backup has failed with our monitoring software. Problem is any information I have found to enable Windows Event logging, only applies to a Windows OS Media/Master server for NetBackup. Is there a way to have a Linux Media/Master server and still have backup failures write to a Windows Event log? It can either be a main Windows servers or to each Windows server running netbackup.1.4KViews2likes5CommentsAppliance 5520 Master NBU Catalog Backup Authentication Error 160

Hi Just wondering if anybody was successfully monitoring Netbackup Appliances using SCOM 2012 R2. I tried using the SCOm Discovery to monitor one of ours, treating it just like a linux server, and received an error saying that the server refused to start a shell/command. Not necessarily after a resolution to the error, but would be interested to know whether anybody has got this sort of monitoring working. Thanks IanSolved1KViews1like2CommentsUnderstanding Accelerator (from detailed Status view)
Hi all, I am in need of confirmation or explanation on some logging I see in the detailed status. When I see this in the detailed status (for an Incremental backup): 04/15/2015 07:02:43 - Info bpbkar (pid=98149) accelerator sent 1115317760 bytes out of 5630247936 bytes to server, optimization 80.2% Does this mean the Accelerator has found5630247936 bytesof new/changed data on the clientof which1115317760 bytesis new data to the backup appliance? And how does this related to: 04/15/2015 07:02:45 - Info netbackup (pid=164455) StorageServer=PureDisk:netbackup; Report=PDDO Stats for (netbackup): scanned: 5498334 KB, CR sent: 268206 KB, CR sent over FC: 0 KB, dedup: 95.1%, cache disabled I see that the client-side-dedup has foundscanned: 5498334 KBof new/changed data of whichsent: 268206 KBis sent to the Backup Appliance as this is new unique data. Please correct me where I am wrong or comfirm I am understanding this correctly. Many thanks Regards, Ronald1.2KViews1like6Comments5220 Limits
I have a 5220 ver 2.5.3 running Netbackup 7.5.0.6. I want to know of there is a way I can monitor my appliance to know if I am reaching limits with it in regards to amount of policys run at one time. I run into jobs running that fail and have been trying to run them at different times to find out if I have a bottleneck. But if there is a tool to monitor performance of my 5220 and tell me I'm running too hot, that would be great. PatSolved1.1KViews1like13Comments
