NDMP error 99
Hi, Since fewdays, I have some trouble on my NDMP backups. My backup selection is shared between many streams. All full backup are OK, but some of incr backup failswith status 99. Hi Guys, We have volume size of 42TB data to be backupwith local NDMP backup going to tape library, it is taking more than 20 days to complete, luckly we don't have much network issues. I was wondering if some one suggest me having succesful backup in minimum time? any other methods? Netbackup master: 7.1.0.3 Media: 7.1.0.3 Netapp filer: Ontap 8.1.2P2 I am taking backup using snapshot ex: /vol/TP_MYDOCS/.snapshot/weekly.0 We have snap mirror configured from Productionto DR filer and NDMP backups are being taken from DR filer. Dear NBU champions I am using NBU 7.5.0.5 on master server win 2k8 R2. Hi All I've spent a few hours searching and trying different methods online to try and get our Tape Cataloge process to work. We have some LTO5 Tapes that were used to backup information in Backup Exec 2010. Since these tapes were used we have upgraded to Backup Exec 2012 (service Pack 4). At first I though tthe catalogue process was failing because of this, but further investigation I can see that it is failing on tapes that have only been used in Backup Exec 2012 When trying to cataloge the tapes after an inventory the job is failing and is producing these error messages: Job ended: 04 June 2014 at 20:23:52 Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe00084b7 - A backup set was created which contains no data. See the job log for details. Final error category: Job Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33975# Catalog- sanapp2.progressrail.com\WHATSUP Null backupset. Possible reason: Cataloging SW Compressed ArcServe Tape. Backupexec does not support this operation In regards to the above message, we are using Compresson on Hardware using our Dell Powervault TL4000 drive. NDMP restore is hung after reading one media.
Hi All, I am trying to restore a directory on NDMP to its original location. My restore actually requires 8 medias. Restore is going in hung state after reading backup image on one media. Nothing is happening after that. I was not able to find any errors in bptm and bprd as well. NDMP Accelerator for NetApp backups
Hi My current environment: Master on: RHEL 6 NBU 7.7.2 Mediaserver: RHEL6 NBU: 7.7.2 Netapp: 8.2.4 P2 7-Mode From NBU 7.7.1 Veritas has released the accelerator feature for NDMP backups. However, in the process of utilizing it, i am getting confused as to how i should get the full potential of this feature. Currently we are taking backup of Netapp vfilers through a NDMP type policy, without utilizing SLP`s. See attached the attributes section of the policy. My question is, considering the method we are utilizing currently, i should just check the Use Accelerator checkbox on the policy attribute to start utilizing the Accelerator feature. But is it the best way to perform an NDMP backup, and utilizing the Accelerator feature? Should i rather use an approach where SLP`s are involved? If yes, how and why will this be a better approach? Team, NDMP backups are configured in our enivronment for Netapp Filers. Backup are running for all the volume except one volume in a NetApp Filer. Issue is "Backup is getting intitated, Snapshot is getting created Backup goes hung state for few hours and failing with 99 error code" Snapshot which was created on the filer was not cleared, Same thing repeated for 4 times & now on the filer we have 4 snapshots which were created and occupired almost 80 GB of disk space. Tried to delete them manually from filer level but not luck we couldnt able to clear that. Hope some one can provide me a solution for this issue.
