upgrade backupexec appliance 3600.R2 to backupexec2014
Hy all, I'm trying to upgrade the appliance of one of my customers. I'm following this TN:http://www.symantec.com/business/support//index?page=content&pmv=print&impressions=&viewlocale=&id=HOWTO101525 and i'm allready stuck in the prerequisites. the HF they mention isn't found by the appliance. Even if I open an RDP to the appliance and launch the live update directly from the server, the hotfix isn't found. if I try to bypass it, and continue, i'm unable to launch the command "upgrade-appliance" in the powershell session I have allready opened a case at symantec, but maybe the solution will be provided faster in this groupSolved1.7KViews0likes11Comments
Symantec Appliance 3600. Backup VMs from vCenter.
Hello! When I back up virtual machine from VMWare vCenter, it doesn't appear in my backup and restore tab. So, backup completes successfully, but I can't restore VM, because I don't see it in backup and restore tab. I can add this VM manually, but in this case Backup Exec sees the VM as a physical box and adds the virtual server to the selection list as a physical server. Similar to this http://www.symantec.com/connect/blogs/backup-exec-2012-virtual-servers-show-physical-selection-list What's the proper way to add VM as a Virtual Server to Symantec Backup Exec to use all benefits of GRT? I All We have a Backup Exec Appliance 3600 R2 with product version 3.0.422.0 (Stand Alone). I try running live update from Backup Exec 2012 Console, but i get the same information. Open Symantec Support Case, but i wait a reply about this issue. Some people any a idea about this issue. BE3600 R2 - BE 2014 (SP2) GRT Restore of Exchange 2003 Mailbox Items
I have a BE3600 R2 Appliance Running Backup Exec 2014, Ver 14.1 Rev 1786 64 bit. And a target Server: Exchange 2003 SP2, with Agent 14.1.1.1786.1103 Target Server is a VM, running on vSphere 5.5 with vCenter. I backup the server via the VMWare Agent with GRT enabled. I am able to restore individual files with no issues. When I try to restore a ExchangeMailbox Item fromthe sameBackup set I get the following: Completed status: Failed Final error: 0xe00002f7 - Cannot extract mailbox messages from the Exchange backup. Review the job log for more information. Final error category: Resource Errors For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-759 I am able to fully see Exchange server Storage Group in the backup set, I am able to see all mailboxes, and all their contents. I can't say for certain when this broke, and I've certanly used it sucessfully many times in the past before I upgraded my appliance to BE 2014. Duplication of Backup sets to be scheduled
Hello all, I am trying to find a way in BE 2014, how to schedule duplication of backup sets. I am duplicatingone server (backup set)this way:https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO98918 I have about 10 servers and I need to create monthly backup, which should consists of last full backup setof all servers backuped to Virtual disk (a link above is working only under 1 server). Only one possible solution how to backup month tapes is duplication backup sets for me. I do not want to do it manually each month, is it somewhere possible to create automatically? Hi All , We are trying to design backup solution for one of our customer . Please find the below block diagram for backup solution. We have some queries designing the backup solution. Is it possible to do backup of data directly from NetApp storage to Tape device using NDMP agent. Is it possible to map volume from NetApp storage to Backup Exec appliance & take backup to tape device . We need to map volume from NetApp storage to one of the Windows VM & then take backup of data on Tape device. In this case how will be Data flow.
