Extended retention for FULLs and Cycles
Hi Folks, Wanted to get some clarification regarding retention in NBU10: In NetBackup 10 through the WebUI, does it support extended retention for Full backups? For example, if I have a weekly Full backup schedule with a standard retention of 4 weeks, is there a way to configure NetBackup to keep the last successful Full backup for a longer period—say, 3 months—even after the regular 4-week retention expires? I'm looking for a way to automatically retain a longer-term Full without creating a separate backup schedule or policy manually. Is this possible in the WebUI or via another mechanism? Does NetBackup have a concept similar to Commvault's "Cycles" or IBM Spectrum Protect's "Versions" where the system ensures that at least one backup cycle is retained, even if backups fail to run for a certain period? This would help ensure that a backup cycle is always available and not expired due to missed jobs. Does NetBackup have such a feature or a similar mechanism to ensure this level of protection? Hi Guys! I have been using IT Analytics and really enjoying the new report and dashboard possibilites, but i am having some difficulties with creating reports that were easily available in OpsCenter. Some of them i was able to generate with the aid of the ITAnalytics Library, but for policies in specific i found no success. The one that was available was not working. Also, the ITA Default Policy Summary doesnt come up with the success %, sadly. I have a policy type success rate report, but i need one for each policy. The OpsCenter Policy Summary had it.... Here are the two main reports i really need help creating: * Top 10 Policies Using most Server Space * Policy Summary Dashboard By the way, is there any collection of reports that were available on OpsCenter for import/similar on IT Analytics? Thank you!1.4KViews1like5CommentsWhich policy is applied?
In some environments where there are several desktop/mailbox policies in use, it is necessary to work out which policy a particular user has applied to them. This is particularly useful when an end user reports that some particular functionality is missing, or wrong, and you are "sure" based on the policies that it should be right ! Here is how to check which policy is applied : Open the Vault Administration Console. Expand Targets Right click on Exchange and select "Display Policies Assigned to Mailboxes" as per this screenshot : Type in the persons name who you are looking for, or click OK, and you'll see a list appear like this :
