Hi we have gone ahead and change the IP address of our netbackup server in our lab. We had an 140.140.x.x address and wew have changed it to a 10.10.x.x address. Everything appears to work well. Our production server is still at the the 140.140.x.x address. I have tried to bring back the catalogue from production to the lab. It did not work. It complains that the server is not the 140.140.x.x. address. Is there a way to restore the catalogue on the lab server which as a diff IP.Solved692Views5likes2CommentsMedia servers a MSDP/PD Disks
We just upgraded to 7.6.02. We have two DD servers with each having its own PD. Server - A : PD -A Server - B : PD -B Yesterday I noticed that restoring from an image that was backed up using Server - A to PD -A, the restore kicked off on Server - B from PD - A. How is this possible? Thanks,747Views4likes10CommentsWindows 2012 backup/restore with Netbackup 7.5.0.4
We have run backup and importantly restore of Windows 2012 files and SQL 2012 databases on Windows 2012 with the Netbackup 7.5.0.4 client. There was an issue with permissons functioning differently on the SQL 2012 databases on Windows 2012, the script gave an exit code 0 eventhough nothing was backed up. Know it is not supported, but we simply cannot wait for Symantec any longer as the organization is already running production things on Windows 2012444Views4likes6CommentsMS SQL Server move restore automation
I am trying to do some scripting to automate move restores of old SQL server agent backups. Where I work we need to have the abillity to move old SQL server backups to a separate environment for compliance testing reasons. Currently I've got a script which can list all the backups of a SQL Server and pull out their NBIMAGE names. I can also move individual databases with the GUI created bch scripts. The issue that I have is that even with the NBIMAGE name I can't work out the required MOVE statements for the bch script. Here is what I currently have: OPERATION RESTORE OBJECTTYPE DATABASE RESTORETYPE MOVE DATABASE "testdatabase" MOVE "testdatabase_data" TO "z:\moved\testdatabase.mdf" MOVE "testdatabase_log" TO "z:\moved\testdatabase.ldf" NBIMAGE "imagename" SQLHOST "hostname" SQLINSTANCE "instancename" NBSERVER "servername" MAXTRANSFERSIZE 6 BLOCKSIZE 7 RESTOREOPTION REPLACE RECOVEREDSTATE RECOVERED NUMBUFS 2 ENDOPER TRUE So the question is: How can I identify the data required for the "MOVE" statements? If it can be done by the GUI, when the GUI is creating a move template, it surely must be doable by the command line? Please note: I'm a backup specialist, who knows a little bit about SQL Server, I should not be confused with a DBA!Solved1.8KViews4likes4CommentsNetbackup Restore Failed on Solaris / File Level
