Catalogue jobs failed - data inconsistent on each tape?? V-79-57344-33994
Hello, i haveto restore an old backup (created with backup exec 10 i guess). For this restore i use Backup Exec 2010 R3 on Server 2008 R2. There are no entries for this backup in the catalog. So i loaded all tapes for this backup (20x LTO4 containing one backup) in my 24-Slot loader and inventorized them. After that i created catalogue jobs for each tape, starting with the first one. After 2 hours and about 800gb data the job on tape 1 failed with the error (translated): V-79-57344-33994 - Data read from media is not consistent. All other tapes failed with the same error. I can browse the data of the first tape and restore some of the items (others have a red cross). All other tapes are not in the catalogue, so i cant browse them. What i tried: * cleaning drive * checking statistic data for all tapes (0 errors) * Under BE Options > catalogue > disabled request all media in a row (translated) * enabled debugging May the first tape be broken? Is there a possibility to check the contents of all other tapes? I'm doing something wrong? Hello all, I have been stuck on this for a while now with now solution and this problem, so far, has occurred only on one machine. Hi all, I have a problem about the MSEO(media server encryption option). backup environment like below: DC SITE(MAST BACKUP SITE) Master server: SHAA2SNBU38 Media server:SHAA2SNBU38 first backup data to DD640,then vault to tape in i500. Recently I discovered that our monthly backup has been using the wrong encryption key. I still have the pass-phrase for the key that was used, so I can recover the data, but now I am wondering how many other month end backups were ran under the wrong key. Is there any way to determine which key was used for a backup? I have searched the job logs (the logs on the server and the ones that were emailed to me), but I cannot find out which key was used. Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.Solved481Views0likes3CommentsMy computer caught fire…
I was advised to repost this topic here by Symantec... All I have got left is the external drive, (USB, 1000 GB), containing the backups. I wasn't unduly worried – after all this is why you have backups isn't it? The computer was fairly old and had two IDE drives with Windows 7 and a matching motherboard with an older type of RAM. The backup was made with Ghost 12 – I had no idea that it had become obsolete. I bought a new computer with two SATA drives. Apparently IDE drives and matching motherboards boards are no longer made. I booted from the SRD but the machine couldn't see the USB drive. I installed Windows 7 and then it could see the USB drive when I booted from the SRD. I told to restore the C drive after which it wouldn't boot from the drive. I subsequently chatted with Symantec support who told me that if I installed the appropriate Ghost application on the new machine it would be possible to restore from my USB drive. The agent insisted that in the whole of Symantec there was not a single remaining copy of any version of ghost… I managed to find a "Try and buy" copy of Ghost 15. Will this work? If not what can I do? The chatline agent did not know the answer to these questions and referred me to this forum. Hi, I'm wondering what exactly SSR2013 is doing when it's at 99% done and stalled seemingly forever at "Moving data from unused area?" There's no indication of how long this will take, and I'm just sitting here thinking of things to do. I can't really leave the system for any length of time because it might finish the crive copy at any moment. So I'm just stuck here grumbling. What I can't understand is what data there is in an unused area. If it's unused, then why is the date important to me, and why do I have to wait interminably while it is moved? Why can't there be some kind of progress indicator so I can know where I am in the process? GaryK3.3KViews0likes20CommentsSSR 2011 Symantec System Recovery Disk ISO download

Dear All, We want to take the image of the whole operating system for Windows 2008 & windows 2003, unix & Solaris clients by using the Netbackup 7.0. We have nearly 100 clients having different operating systems and with 32 & 64 bits. To take the operating system image, We are going to implement the BMR(Bare Metal Restore). Please guide me the simplest and easy way, how to use the BMR. Do we have to arrange a dedicated server for the BMR, OR, we can use our netbackup master server to have the BMR? Which one is the best for us? Please tell me the best practicesand the concerns if any for the implementation of the BMR. Bundle of Thanks.Solved4.2KViews0likes28Comments
