Netbackup restore failed - Restore error(2850)
Good day Guys, I am fairly new to Netbackup. Recently joined a company that uses it for it's backups. So far, all the problems I have experienced, I was able to find solutions for in these forums, but today I have one I am unable to solve. Background info: Server OS: MS Server 2008 R2 Ent 64bit Netbackup 7.6.0.4 Dell PowerVault TL2000 LTO5 Media tapes Senario: I did a full backup on a file server, which was also the media server to 2 tapes. I uninstalled netbackup from that server, as it is being decom-ed and didn't backup any settings for netbackup or even the catalog, which apperantly was done to the server's HDD, instead to tape. This server was then renamed to a new name and I did a BMR restore to a VM of the "old" server. Now I need to restore that complete backup to a 3rd server, which has enough disk space, over the network. The restore was started from the VM server and job is being monitored on the renamed server, where netbackup was re-installed. This is not the first problem I have run into with the restore, but I think most settings are correct now on Netbackup. Running EV 7.5 on Windows 2003. Within Computer Management, I notice there are lots of different EV queues. EV Archive agent admin queue EV Default Admin queue EV Mailbox Task for server1 admin queue EV Restore Agent Admin queue EV Restore spool admin queue EV spool queue EV storage archive EV storage restore Generally, the Mailbox task queue is the busiest. Could someone explain to me what these queues mean? Is there an effect of deleting a queue if it's getting too large? ERROR: client is not validated to perform the requested operation

Virtual Machines going out of network during snapshot backup
Has anyone experienced the Virtual machines going out of network during the backup using "VMware" policy. Apparently , the Windows VMs losing connectivity for a little while and coming back online and the Linux VMs becoming unresponsive.Solved12KViews1like7Comments
Steps to configure a client

Once regerstation done will get the FQDN to our system. 3)we will install netbackup client server software in the machine, it will ask licence key, master, media server names while installing and once installation done 4)we need to add client entries in master server bp.conf , etc/host file. 5)now will chek for the connectivity using ping, telnet and nslookup commands, Once the connectivity is fine will configure the server as netbackup client. The last 2 days I get the following error: Click an error below to locate it in the job log V-79-57344-33029 - Error - Mount failed. Invalid Physical Volume Library Media Identifier. V-79-57344-33029 - Unable to acquire device for the specified pool and media The backup to Disk is running fine, but I can't copy them to tape. Also restoring from the disk is not possible. I restarted all backup exec services, but with no luck. Anybody an idea what is going wrong here? Running backup exec 2012 with sp1.
