Hello I have just setup Backup Exec 2014 on a Windows 2008 Standard server, backing up an Exchange 2010 server. I was not getting a notification that the backup job was either complete or failing, just no notification at all. I researched this and found that I needed to change the login account, which I did. when I run the Test credentials though, although most test pass, the test against the mailbox databases fails, with "Test Failed, Test Recommended." What do I need to do to make this work? The login account has domain admin rights and is a member of the Exchange Mail Admins.Solved7.8KViews0likes5Commentsinstall backup exec agent on windows 10

hi guys, i'm on the task of recovering old datas from old tapes. I can read the tape contents using Symantec Backup Exec, by doing Inventory, and going to the device then clicking on the tape device name. When I do a restore data, I can view the contents of the tape. My question is, is there a way to list the contents of the tape to an excel file or text format? I had downloaded the Catdump utility for Backup Exec 12.5 from this link--> (http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH87173) The syntax for this catdump would be: catdump path-to-program-files-and-catalog-GUID.fh > dump-to-text.file But my problem is when I tried to run that command, there's no data generated becaused the catalog.GUID.fh file does not exist anymore, or it might have been deleted. Is there a way to print or list out the tape contents from old tapes if the catalog file has been deleted?Solved5.9KViews1like17CommentsNot receiving Test Notification from Backup Exec

Hi, When taking image backups i am getting the particular error. Even the Full Image backups doesnt work. Image Backups-Incremental Image Backups-Daily -- The job failed with the following error: Incremental\\Differential backup methods are not supported for this VM. The backup job failed, since the option 'to fall back to a full backup' was not selected. I logged a case with Symantec support and they said each VM should have an agent installed whether you need to take a GRT backup or just an image backup. Secondly they said all VMs must have hardware version7 inorder to do an incremental backup inorder to allow change block tracking feature within VMware. As a first step I am trying to push the RAWS agent to each VM. While installing agents on some VMs i am getting the following error 'install failed with error code 1603' I checked firewall settings and they are disabled.
