SMTP Email notifications on a non-standard SMTP port
My ISP recently blocked all SMTP traffic on port 25, so I no longer receive my BESR reports via e-mail. I need to change Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 to use SMTP port 587, but this is not an option in the software. I searched the registry to try and find a way to adjust it, but came up empty handed. I tried using an SMTP server of mail.server.com:587, but that didn't work. I tried changing the default SMTP port for Windows (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\services) and that didn't work... Our backups will fail every month or so. The error message is below: Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of System Reserved (*:\), (C:\), d-drive(D:\), e-drive(E:\). Error E0BB00B5: Snapshot error Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'OS error 2147754760.'. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071) I have googled and searched the Symantec forums regarding these error messages and nothing works. Our VSS writers are all stable and in good condition, the shadow copies are only on C: and they have been creating fine (7 am and 12 pm every weekday, 50 GB of storage, oldest copy is successfully deleted). Windows Small Business Server 2011 (which is Windows Server 2008 R2). SSR 2013 Small Business Server Edition 11.0.2.49853 Our backups are on weekdays, start at 9 PM and finish around 6:50 AM. We are backing up to external USB drives, a different one for each weekday. Nothing seems to be causing these failures; it happens with different USB drives, and with no clearly connected entries in the Event Viewer that have happened each time. I can't tell at what point in the backup process the backup is failing, that is, what file the backup fails on. How do I turn on enhanced logging for SSR 2013 so I can see what files are successfully copied during the backup process and at what time?I have only so far found instructions for Backup Exec, not SSR 2013.Solved1.5KViews0likes6CommentsAgent not communicating on server with domain controller
Hello. I have several 2003R2 servers that I'm looking to backup with SSR 2013R2 Server. I have one main server that contains SSR and have installed the agent to multiple servers on the network with no issues being able to comunicate back and forth to them. I'm having an issue with one of them though. It's our DR domain controller server. I'm able to deploy the agent to the server with no issues. After the server reboots, I can no longer connect via SSR. I can see it in the list of computers and it shows the agent is installed in SSR computer search but I can't do anything else with it. Any ideas?? Thanks792Views1like3CommentsSymantec System Recovery & SNMP
We've a selection of customers running a range of versions from Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 to Symantec System Recovery 2013 R2. I've enabled SNMP on each and have software to receive the traps running, but nothing is seen. I'm picking up HP alerts so I know that the receiver is alive. The MIB files (identical for each version it seems) have been uploaded to the management tool There's very little in the way of settings in BESR/SSR - tick boxes and one dropdown so I'm assuming there is something behind the scenes that needs to be configured. I've been reading through a variety of articles and manuals. The manual basically says "Tick the boxes and choose from the dropdown" with nothing further. Should I be configuring Windows SNMP services in a particular way or is there some other settings I'm missing somewhere? Any suggestions? Every week i'm recieving multiple (around 50) successful emails on a single full backup job. It seems there is a email that is generated every time the backup software purges an old backup file (which i really don't care to know),here is a sample: Date: 3/14/2015 4:21:20 AM Notification Type: Info Priority: High Description: Info 6C8F043E: Recovery point F:\SBSFull Backup\SBS_D_Drive005.v2i deleted to comply with the size of recovery points to save for each drive. The only options I see within the console are under Task/Options/Notifications/SMTP Email I have the priority level set to Medium and high priority messages and checks for Errors, Warnings, Information. The only emails i want to recieve is when a completes (success OR failure). How can i go about do this?1.5KViews0likes10Commentsrestore registry of regedit
