Duplication of Backup sets to be scheduled
Hello all, I am trying to find a way in BE 2014, how to schedule duplication of backup sets. I am duplicatingone server (backup set)this way:https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO98918 I have about 10 servers and I need to create monthly backup, which should consists of last full backup setof all servers backuped to Virtual disk (a link above is working only under 1 server). Only one possible solution how to backup month tapes is duplication backup sets for me. I do not want to do it manually each month, is it somewhere possible to create automatically? Dear, I have a problem with baxckup exec appliance 3600 E with Windows Server 2008 Enterprise R2, you can not backup or restore, I liberarado space oldest files, and have applied the classified and restarted the server, HOWEVER remains the problem. Restore job hanging: Status: Running, Current Operation: Restore
Earlier today I restored several files and the jobs ran successfully and went perfectly. However, now I started to select several other non-contiguous files to restore in our large directory structure and the restore jobs just hang there doing nothing. Many times they sit there at zero files restored/0% and sometimes they jump ahead to 44% or 16% or something showing that it's restored several files but I can see that it hasn't restored those files and then it hangs at that percentage. I allowed the restore jobs to sit for 2 1/2 hours waiting for it to continue but I finally canceled them. I also tried modifying them to restore to another location in case the destination it was attempting to go to was busy or something but that didn't work either. Finally, I rebooted my 3600 appliance and still nothing. I don't understand why it's taking so long. We do have a very large file structure and I'm trying to restore over top of the files that are there. Is it possible it's taking all this time to traverse the file structure?691Views0likes1Comment

Backup Exec 3600 Appliance not supporting GRT on Server 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013
Hello Support, Can I get help with an issue on Backup Exec Appliance not supporting GRT with restores of Server 2012 R2, Exchange 2013, Active Directory, Sharepoint 2013, in fact all GRT required products. I know the appliance is EOL. I thought getting the R3 appliance would enable me restore GRT supported applications from Backup Exec 2014. Now I have to deselect GRT as I keep getting backup complete but with exceptions. The GRT works well in non-BE 3600 appliance environments. I saw the below in the hardware compatibitity list on page 10 Backup Exec Deduplication Disk Storage and BE 3600 appliance Non-GRT and GRT backups are supported and no staging is needed for GRT restores. while pushing the agent to the servers encounter withcredential error and sometime WMI error and the while taking backup of SQL database server after finishing the backup while verify the backup encouter with constincy check error.... Afternoon All. Having another issue with my new appliances which I am hoping somebody may be able to assist with. Just to give some background to the problem Previous Environment - HP Proliant Server with Backup Exec 2012. New Environment - Backup Exec Appliance 2600 with Backup Exec 2014 (fully patched). Exchange Environment - MS Exchange 2007 SP3. A request has come in to restore some emails from a historical backup (from March 2014) and I have identified the tape which has the relevant data on it however when I have cataloged it on the new appliance a ton of emails are missing from users mailboxes (in some instances there are no emails from the whole of 2012 and 2013 appearing within the restore options). I have inserted the same media into the BE2012 environment which is still in place and can confirm that all the emails are visible and avaliable for restore within Backup Exec 2012 however due to the fact that I have upgraded the agent on the Exchange Server to the necessary BE2014 agent I am unable to restore to the users mailbox. I have approx 35 users requiring restores from this period so would rather not go down the PST restore route. Has anybody got any ideas as to why my new BE2014 server is not displaying all the messages I would expect to be avaliable? I should stress that some mailboxes have the messages avaliable for restore - it is only some which are not appearing with their full content avaliable. I have a couple of SQL servers and I´m doing restore test and I´m facing whit the problem that I have to do a two steps restores one for the OS whit the SDR and other for the SQL instance is that true or there is other way to do it in a one step?
