AIR Duplication failed with error 227 on bptm logs
Hello Everybody, I am facing with a problem when duplicating an AIR replcated backup with this message on the bptm log. write_backup: cannot add fragment to image database, error = no entity was found The enviroment is as follow: there are two Veritas Appliances distributed on two different sites. Each of the Appliances has its own Netbackup Domain. The SLPs for AIR was implemented to do backup locally, replicate backups to the remotely Applianbcesand lastly duplicate the replicated backups to tape. The locally SLP has Backup and Replicate operation and the remotely has import and duplicate operations. On the remote Appliance the import has done successfully but when runthe duplication job it finishes whit the error 227 / 191 I have read this technote https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH55980 but the problem still is present. Exchange backup takes too much time
Hi guys, I have a question... MyDAG enviroment is composed by three servers every node is a virtual server (VMWARE), but disks where databases (29 databases = 800 GB)are on LUMs. Netbackup enviroment:Master server is Windows 2012 and media server is 5230 appliance. Full backups are taking almost 12 hours!! Could anyone give me an idea to improve this!

Unable to restore a oracle control file in RHEL
Hi Guys, Its me again :( I´m trying to restore a oracle database according to this technote HOWTO63971 but when I run this command: run { allocate channel c1 type 'sbt_tape'; send 'NB_ORA_SERV=nbu_master, NB_ORA_CLIENT=ora_clnt'; restore controlfile to '/tmp/cntrl.bak' from 'cntrl_624_1_770006541'; release channel c1; } Im trying to restore from 5230 appliance (dp_disk_ecbpprnb4)

NB7.6.0.3 restore to different location issue

NFS mount point on NetBackup 5230 Appliance
Hi Team, Please I need your expert advise on this solution: Customer has proposed implementing backup solution via NFS; this solution is based on having the centralized server IPs & file path where to send the backups to. We currently have Symantec NetBackup 5230 Appliance installed in this customer datacenter. Question: Will NetBackup 5230 Appliance support mount points from network file systems (NFS). This will enable customer backup their network file system data to the central storage location, which is on the NBU appliance. Thanks in advance, Felix

VMware Backup then replication & restoration to another NBU Domain
Hi, We are having four 5230 appliances. Two at production site as Master/Media and two at DR site as Master Media. We want to setup AIR replication between them. After that we want to take backup of vmware virtual machine, it will be replicated to the DR and then restore that VM to Esxi server available at DR site. Please advice how to be workable. is it possible ? What step we should taken to do it successful. Thanks in advance

VMware Backup then replication & restoration to another NBU Domain
We have Two 5230 Appliance at Production site as one Master and one Media role. Similarly two at DR site with one Master, one Media role. We want to setup AIR between Production and DR between appliance. Then we want to take the backup of Esxi server VM's and replicate to the DR site and wanted to restore to DR site on another Esxi server. Will it be possible and how? Please share your precious adives. Regards

Backing up Microsoft Exchange 2010 to Symantec Appliance with GRT
Hi all, In my previous post, I have asked how back up Microsoft Exchange into tape. Now, I need help how to configure a Microsoft Exchange 2010 to Symantec Appliance. Master server Windows Server 2012 standard R2 (clustered) Netbackup version: 7.6.0.3 Microsoft Exchange Microsoft Exchange 2010 SP3 Windows Server 2008 R2 with 2 CAS and 2 DAG ( Netbackup client installed) Symantec appliance (media server) version 2.6.0.3 I've read some of the TNfrom Symantec and they outline that I need to have NFS service to installed in the Master backup server,Exchange servers and media server. But how about appliance, I presume that NFS is part of the Symantec appliance. So then it leave me with the service account for netbackup right? Thank you
