SQL Restore from exec.cloud
I configured SQL database Backup in continuous mode, but when I want restore information from a previous day, only appear one or two point of restore (Two hours at day). The Question is How much information could I lost in this restore scenario? 2. What happen with the SQL logs or how is the sql backup process. Understanding the Catalog
I'm having some difficulty understanding the Catalog. My minimum requirements are to be able to restore from B2D for 1 month and be able to see at least 3 months in the catalog (for Tape) in order to meet our SLAs. I have my Catalog set to truncate after 3 months. If I try to restore, I can see back to 07/13/2012. If I look in my \Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\Catalogs folder I can see catalogs dating back to 02/22/2012. Why can't I restore from 02/22/2012? Why the discrepancies? What is the Catalog actually looking at? (I am more interested in understanding than trying to accomplish a particular task.)Solved1.8KViews0likes6Comments

Duplication of Backup sets to be scheduled
Hello all, I am trying to find a way in BE 2014, how to schedule duplication of backup sets. I am duplicating one server (backup set) this way: https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.HOWTO98918 I have about 10 servers and I need to create monthly backup, which should consists of last full backup set of all servers backuped to Virtual disk (a link above is working only under 1 server). Only one possible solution how to backup month tapes is duplication backup sets for me. I do not want to do it manually each month, is it somewhere possible to create automatically? Operating System not found when Restoring VM
Hi community I've some backup of Vmware VMs with Backup Exec 2012 Appliance, now i need to restore in another different server, the restore process finish sucesfully, but when i power on the Vm i obtain the message error "Operating System not found" . BE.cloud restore to new computer - files are not accessible: security
Has anyone attempted to restore BE.cloud files to a new computer? I needed to do that for a client who's computer crashed, and every single file is inaccessible because of Windows Security. I am told by support that this is the way the product works. I would have to go through each of the 5,000+ files and change ownership. Any suggestions? I have a new job and now I have to monitor a backup exec appliance. My new boss just asked me to run a test restore. The last backup exec system I used (not an appliance), I click on restore and picked the file I want to restore. The problem is that when I click on restore, the only option I get is either system state or a blank window. I look at the what is being backed up is the network shares NOT the drives, which are excluded. When I look at the Backup Set, the only thing I see is the system state. The backups say successful but I'm not sure what it is really backing up. The question: How can I make sure that the network shares are being backed up and how to run a test restore?
