monitoring web app on x64 w2008
I've installed the webmonitoring on a w2008x64 ev-server, having only admin and directory service. When locally opening the page (localhost/monitoringwebapp/default.aspx), it shows an error with 'guidelines': An error has occurred. An error has occurred. Health monitoring is enabled. The error details have been updated in log.txt. Please contact the administrator or technical support with this file. This list may help you in troubleshooting the issue. Verify that AppPool Identity User is added to IIS_WPG group on the IIS server. Verify that AppPool Identity User has Read access to HKLM\KVS\Enterprise Vault registry key. You can enable Health Monitoring on this application by following these steps - Take a backup of current web.config file. Change the tag <healthMonitoring heartbeatInterval="0" enabled="false"> to <healthMonitoring heartbeatInterval="0" enabled="true">. The Health Monitoring log will be generated in log.txt. There is no logfile. I've verified the above mentioned points, and all is well. Does anyone have an idea, or do I need an EV-server having ALL services running.... thx. Hi, I am using EV10.0.3 and I want to make an ex-employee policy. After a user is not working for the company anymore, it is disabled and hidden from the Exchange GAL and moved to an Active Directory OU named _archive. I created a PG (ex-employee)that provisions users that are in this OU and auto-enables the mailbox Next I added the registery keys: ExcludeDisabledADAccounts and ProcessHiddenMailboxes to the EV server and restarted the services. Investigation turned out that the mailbox is not automatically enabled and is marked as "new mailbox" so it will not archive a thing.... After running the SQL query: update ExchangeMailboxEntry Set MbxExchangeState=’0′ where MbxExchangeState=’2′ The mailbox of the user can be enabled. After the provisioning task is run, the mailbox is hidden again. After running the archiving task the disabled user can be archived with the normal runs. Now I want to know how disabled mailboxes can be enabled automatically, running the SQL query and manual activation of the mailbox is no option.Solved1.3KViews0likes3CommentsMigrate Exchange 2010 Archived Mailboxes to O365
One of our clients are migration their Exchange 2010 archived mailboxes to O365. The concern is that when the users are migrated, it will break the link (stub) between legacy EV and destination mailbox (on Exchange online)which will leave the users unable to access the historical data. Is there a way for users to have access to their legacyarchives while the mailbox is being migrated toO365? What are the migration options to maintain the stubb connection intact? Speaking to one 3rd party professional, he suggested that stubs loseconnection will depend how the users are migrated from Exch to O365. What method people follow to ensure continuity of legacy EV system? Any document to support the above discussion would be appreciated.Solved4KViews0likes10CommentsMoving FSA place holders and files not yet archived
Hi all, I need to move files and placeholders to a new volume on same server. (13TB) My understanding is that if I use the fsautility -pm -s "\\fileserver\fileshare" -d "\\fileserver\newfileshare" the placeholders will be moved, however what will happen to the files that are yet to be archived? are they also moved or do I need to run another process to do this? Cheers Changes made: "Disk" to "server"865Views0likes5CommentsDelete archived file when placeholder is delete with Pass-Throught enable

Hi, There is a situation: - default policy not to proceed the items with pending reminders set - oversized emails (> 4MB) are being vaulted during daily Archiving taskprocessing - some of the oversized emails have reminders set by the users Also other emails (less than 4 MB in size) with reminders set aremanuallyvaulted Result: On the next day oversized emails appears vaulted. Unvaulting them clear the reminder. Also manually vaulted emails are being restored with reminder cleared off. Any ideas?Solved788Views0likes3CommentsCan you set size on Vault store partition?
Hi, I have large volumes 8TB+ and was looking at setting Vault store partion to Tape size of 2.35TB, however there appers to be no option to set the rollover for Vault partion size just the Disk volume size. I would prefer this to be auto rather then me doing it manualy since we have over 80TB to archive So the idea is that for each Disk Volume I have 3 Partions (Ptn1,Ptn2 and Ptn3) of 2.35TB each leaving 16% for operations disk volume, and get them to roll over to the next automaticaly once prtitions are filled up. cheers731Views3likes4CommentsEV 11.0.1 FSA slow restore

My organization currently uses the Enterprise Vault 11.0.1 The business requirements are 1. Users are required to manage their archiving (3 month Exchange mailbox policy, multi-year Archive policy), this is achieved by having the user manually move items to the archive 2. Users typically use a drag and drop method to place items into the vault (for which we use vault cache) There are a few situations where this becomes problematic. There are several users who have multiple folders in their archive that do not exist in their mailbox or vice versa. When users attempt to move items between folders or delete folders, they may get error messages stating that they are unable to do so because the folder exists in exchange. I have also observed in a few cases a user will move an item in the vault cache and Enterprise vault will move it back to its original location. Under the Exchange mailbox policy, under the Moved Items tab, Update archive location for items moved in the mailbox is checked, however since we are not using shortcuts and delete the item after archiving, I don't think this is having any affect. The simplist solution for me would be to sever the tie between Enterprise Vault and Exchange and have the vault exist independently of Exchange. I have been reading up on zapping mailboxes, (and if anyone has a good write up on it, it would be appreciated) as a possible solution, but from what I understand, this will reset the permissions on the archive, not sure if it will clear info on what folder an email item came from. Has anyone had similar business requirements and does anyone know of a way to allow users to edit their vault independantly of their Exchange mailbox?491Views0likes1Comment
