Explanation of EV queues
Running EV 7.5 on Windows 2003. Within Computer Management, I notice there are lots of different EV queues. EV Archive agent admin queue EV Default Admin queue EV Mailbox Task for server1 admin queue EV Restore Agent Admin queue EV Restore spool admin queue EV spool queue EV storage archive EV storage restore Generally, the Mailbox task queue is the busiest. Could someone explain to me what these queues mean? Is there an effect of deleting a queue if it's getting too large? Which queues are the ones we can delete etc?Solved13KViews3likes5CommentsNeed an explanation of what the local EV db's are?

One of our clients are migration their Exchange 2010 archived mailboxes to O365. The concern is that when the users are migrated, it will break the link (stub) between legacy EV and destination mailbox (on Exchange online)which will leave the users unable to access the historical data. Is there a way for users to have access to their legacyarchives while the mailbox is being migrated toO365? What are the migration options to maintain the stubb connection intact? Speaking to one 3rd party professional, he suggested that stubs loseconnection will depend how the users are migrated from Exch to O365. What method people follow to ensure continuity of legacy EV system? Any document to support the above discussion would be appreciated.Solved4KViews0likes10CommentsHow to manage the Enterprise Vault data content when it grows big and you are running out of disk space ?
Hi People, Can anyone suggest to me what is the best way to manage and sustain the Enterprise Vault data that grow bigger and larger every month ? My situation is that whenever my Exchange Server 2007 database drive is running low of disk space, I'd go to lower down the EV archive items from 6 months into 5 months and now down to 3 months just to create some room to breathe in the Exchange Server mailbox. I understand that this is not resolving the problem in the best way as it should since we just shifting away the disk space usage from Exchange into the Enterprise Vault. However what are my options to manage and sustain the growing data in the EV ? Can i offload to tape for the Vault data disk and then deleting it manually, what happens with the indexing and search when the data is archived to tape and I want to retrieve it later for some reason ? Any kind of assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.Solved2.3KViews3likes12CommentsSymantec Enterprise Vault Archive Vault backup & Virus Scanning best practice

Hi all, I have just uploaded a new version of EV Dashboard to www.evdiscuss.net/download. It includes a new Singe Instance Storage Report. Thanks go to JesusWept2 for providing the SQL query, which I have wrapped up in some ASP. A new table needs to be created 'SISReport', within the EVDashboard database. The code to create the table is in the /sql/EVDashboard Database Creation/CreateTables.sql. Enjoy, Jeremy.2.3KViews0likes31CommentsHow To Not Archive Flagged Messages
Our company recently rolled out Enterprise Vault. One of the main questions from our users has been how do they keep flagged messages in their Inbox until the flag has been completed. Many of our Executives manage their follow-ups/task from their inbox or keep important documents related to a long running project in their inbox. This is done so they have a daily reminder and/or can access the information from the mobile devices very quickly. When we used Microsoft Outlook auto-archive feature, you could set an option for auto-archive to skip archiving messages that had an active flag. Can you do the same thing with a setting in Enterprise Vault? Thanks in advance for your suggestions!Solved2.2KViews1like2CommentsHow to Configure Enterprise Vault Mailbox Archiving Policy For Specific Requirement
Hi, I am having EV 11 for Exchange 2010 implemented. I am having a specific requirement which is as given below. 1. Archive all mail items from user mail box, which are older than 45 days. 2. Any new mail item arrived in my mailbox which is more than 1024KB, should get archive immediately after 1 day. 3. Retention for both of the above mentioned requirement is 1 Year As I understood, the above requirements I can configure in exchange mailbox policy. But parallely I also have below requirement for which I am looking for the help. Any mail which comming from helpdesk@test.com should get archive after 1 day. However, for these mails, the retention policy has to be 6 months I know, creating seperate folderin my Inbox for the helpdeskmails & applying specific policy, will work in this scenario. However, without creating folder, is there any way to configure the policy. I have tried custom filtering, but it didn't work. May be I would be doing some mistake while creating custom filter.
