Firewall woes: Definitive TCP Port list for Netbackup
Hi, I keep running into problems connecting to clients/servers that have firewalls running. Does anyone have a COMPLETE portlist of TCP/UDP ports that should be open, so that I can do ALL possible Netbackup actions imaginable? We are using Netbackup 6.5.6 and 7.1 in a full Windows environment. I would like to put a generic firewall ruleset that is the same on all clients, so that Netbackup will never ever be bothered by the firewalls again... Hope someone has this information available! Thanks! FredSolved580Views0likes3Commentsshutdown and restart Cluster with VEA

Hi, So I got this 5 pictures.Basicaly I want to create a report with no time bassis on retention level. I want it to show me Client Name, Policy name, Job protected size, Retention Level, Retention Period of the jobs only wiht a retention of >45 days. Simple right? see how I got retention level setted up in host properties(the interval, see picture 1) and add condition in the report. If the retention level is low than 45 days which in term of Opscenter mean Retention Level = interval(0,3) in my case (picture 1 + picture 2) with some simple columns like in picture 3 but I got no results. If I remove the condition Retention Level, and add time bassis like: 45 day before(picture 4+picture 5), I got data, but if I want to add Retention Level condition and play with it I get nothig, why? what i`ve done wrong? Any info you need to figure this out? And what the heck mens retention level -1, No retention? :))) expired? or can I set up a schedule without retention period? //George2KViews0likes2CommentsFull Linux and windows restore without BMR option
Hello, I am not sure if I need to open seperate two discussion for this or not. I have doubts for both. WINDOWS I was going thorugh the following tech note: http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH56473 There it is told to restore every thing from the master server in step A (all the drives which contains anything related to program files). My doubt is will it not stop the backup once we are restore will start overwriting the files related to netbackup client? I am asking this after what happened with me with Linux restore explained below. UNIX What needed to be done if we need to restore full Linux system, including everything. The system is live now. I have tried to restore every thing on one running linux system. Restore stopped in between and then I lostt ssh access to the host, it messed the system very badly that we are still trying to bring it up. I know one way is to restore every thing to a seprate disk then boot the system from that seprate disk, but what if I want to restore every thing to the original location not on the seprate disk, is it possible? Let me know if I have not explained my problem well enough. Thanks in advance!Solved8.4KViews1like8CommentsNetbackup SQL intelligent policy implementation
