NetBackup 7.5.0.3 (NetBackup 7.5 Maintenance Release 3) is now available!
(Crossposted from the Netting Out NetBackup blog) I'm very pleased to announce that the next Maintenance Release for NetBackup 7.5 is now available! NetBackup 7.5.0.3, a software only Maintenance Release, is the third maintenance release for NetBackup 7.5. It is a cumulative release containing fixes and content from 7.5.0.1 (software-only) and 7.5.0.2 (appliance-only). In addition, this release contains fixes to over 325 issues including the most commonly downloaded EEBs, several customer escalations, and internal engineering defects. The significant content of this release is: Solaris 11 master server, Bare Metal Restore server and OpsCenter Managed Server support No new features in 7.5.0.3. (crossposted from the Netting Out NetBackup blog) With NetBackup 7.5 now on the horizon, it's time to make sure you're aware of the coming end of support for NetBackup 6.x. It's hard to believe it will have been seven years since the NetBackup 6.0 release! On October 3, 2012, NetBackup 6.x will reach End of Support Life (EOSL). This includes ALL 6.0 maintenance packs and 6.5 Release Updates. The NetBackup 6.x EOSL means that in order to continue receiving NetBackup support, an upgrade to NetBackup 7.x will be necessary. Version 7.1.0.3 is the latest available update today. (The 7.1.0.4 maintenance release is expected to see release in March. It is expected that this will be the final 7.1 update.) In March 2012, NetBackup 7.5 GA will also be available as an upgrade path. There is no cost to upgrade for customers with a current maintenance contract; however, you may find that additional or updated hardware is needed.Use SORT to help shine a light on any hurdles to your upgrade. Don't listen to "The Customer Hold the Longest. is X min. It goes up and down and noone ever answers.Need more secure file transfer mechanism for downloading patches
Our company is cracking down on security as a result of the OPM hack. All FTP access is blocked, including ftp://ftp.veritas.com. Can you please make downloads available via https links and provide a way to verify downloads have not been tampered with? e.g. a PGP signature
Unable Access Second Partition After Formatting Primary Partition
I recently had fully encrypted hard disk (Toshiba mq01abd075), operating system (Windows 7 Professional), two partition. C (146 GB) and D (548 GB) and 4 GB Unallocated space. I ran the system restore for partition C, after which I was unable to access the operating system. I reinstalled the operating system partition C. I installed PGP WDE, when I entered in the program, partition D does not appear to be decrypted. Partition D appears in My Computer (0 bytes), in computer management at disk management appear 548 GB RAW. If I double click on it ask me for Format, but i've never click Yes, so the second partition was never touch after the problem.After this I reinstalled twice the OS. Now I have windows 8.1 but stil,but still I have not touch the second partition. I've tried to decrypt the drive with a few tutorials such as(WinPE and put the hard disk as second partition): http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH170574 http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH149478 Give me various errors suchs as: "Could not locate valid BGFS record. Recovey failed! Operation recover disk failed: Error code -11984 item not found" or "Disk 1 is not instrumented by bootguard" and others. I know was my fault. Please give me a solution.
