SSR 2011 Symantec System Recovery Disk ISO download
I have SSR 2011 installed and would like to create a System Recovery disk, but i don't have the ISO. I know there's a download for that and I've seen a location for a 2013 version, but I assume I need a 2011 version. Where can I download one? Thanks, Rob13KViews1like15CommentsSSR Recovery Disk ISO
When I click on "Create Custom Recovery Disk", it asks me for the location of the "Symantec System Recovery Disk". Noting also that "You can specify the location of the Symantec System Recovery Disk CD, or the folder path which contains the recovery disk files. You can also download the Symantec System Recovery Disk .ISO image file and select it as the source." My question is - from where can I download the "Symantec System Recovery Disk .ISO image file"? Thank you.Solved6.1KViews1like3CommentsCannot boot using custom restore disk into HP 8200 Elite SFF
I have tried searching for known issues, and found this TECH article: TECH162698 which most closely matches my issue. I am reporting that I cannot boot off a custom restore disk on the HP 8200 Elite SFF. However, using the exact same USB thumb drive, I can boot into the HP 6000 SFF with no problems. When I try to boot on the HP8200, I can get past the initial Windows is loading files screen, but then I get this error message: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem: 1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. 2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next." 3. Click "Repair your computer." If you do not have this disk, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturor for assistance. Status: 0xc0000017 Info: An unexpected error has occured. I have tried both the English-only and Multi-Language restore disks, and with both System Recovery 2011 Desktop Edition, as well as System Recovery 2011 Desktop Edition SP1. The English only custom restore disk fails to boot at all. When I use the Multi-language restore disk, I receive the message above. Again, THIS WORKS on the HP 6000 Pro Small Form Factor with the same exact thumb drive. Any ideas?4.3KViews1like10CommentsDisks drives not shown (System Recovery 2011, 2013)
I had installed on my notebook System Recovery 2011, it was running smoothly for several months. I haven't run a backup job for a couple of months, and now the task is there but I can't run it, as it's greyed. The reason ? No disk drive is shown if you try to edit the task settings, or define a new backup ... (see the attached image, if it's shown..) Upgraded to System Recovery 2013 hoping that the issue would be solved, but with no luck.. The problem is still there.. Any suggestions ?Solved4.3KViews1like22CommentsSystem Recovery vs. Backup Exec

My custoner has one server and one backup server. They attach to their backup server 3 TB external drives. One for each week of the month. Their backup job is every Tuesday is a full backup followed by an incremental backup every day. The backup job to the backup server runs perfectly every day and so does the offsite copy. The problem is that every day I see this log for their data (E:\) drive: Info 6C8F1F5F: Created offsite copy \\server-02\g$\SERVER-01_E_Drive009_i002.iv2i. Plus I dont get the message for the C:\ , D:\ and the system_reserved drives. As you can guess, my question is why am I getting this message? I'm a little tired of explaining to my client who's not technical at all, that the backup went well that it had been tested. I'm trying to replace my 160GB drive with a larger 250GB drive. I'm running version SSR 2011 Desktop 10.0.3.45857 on Win 7 x86 OS. I have only 2 Recovery points and bothe fail when I install the new drive and boot with the recovery disk of the same version mentioned above. It appears to be at the very end and "Error EA390013: At end of Something" comes up. When I scan the disk through anaylize it doesn't have any data restored mainly the Windows default folders, like Windows, Users - but only default and Public. Both rescovery points fail the same way. There never appeared to be anything wrong with the 160GB drive it is just getting close to full. So next I reinstalled the original 160GB drive and booted to it with the larger drive also installed. I ran copy drive but it too fails at 96% with -- "High Priority Error: Error EC8F17B3: Cannot complete copying of (C:\) drive. Error EC8F0409: Cannot copy source drive to destination location. Error EA390013: At end of something. 0xEA390013 (Symantec System Recovery) (UMI:V-281-3215-6067)" What do any of these errors mean? Too vague. I just ran Windows error checking on the 160GB drive, it found nothing. Is this error due to my 160GB source drive or is there something wrong with the new 250GB drive? We have Symantedc System Recovery 2010/2011 across several sights, and we have noticed a common problem occurs where previous recovery points do not get cleaned up post backup as per the rules in the backup job. Is there anything else we can do to make this more robust without resorting to post backup scripts deleteing files as this will mess up SSR's recovery point history and run the risk of deleting the last good backup if the current backup fails. Currently we are aware of only 2 places we can automate this process, in the backup job you can set the amount of recovery points to keep, and in the manage backup destination/settings you can set a threshhold based on capacity. So for example if I am creating a backup files that is 350 gb (final compressed .v2i files), and I have set "Limit the number of recovery points for this backup" to 1, and set the "manage destination settings" to "monitor disk space usage for the backup storage" and set the threshold to 360 gb, also set to "auto matically optomise storage" Have I missed something here or is there a better way we should be doing this? From what I can see in the logs, at the point the process should be purging the previous days .v2i files SSR seems to think the backup device is unavailable (when it fails), however the backup device in this specific example is an Iomega NAS drive on a 1GB lan... I created a backup of my Dell Optiplex 390 and there are 3 total files. A Dell File, A Recovery File, and the C Drive. When I boot into the SSR 2011 I am clicking Backup Recovery then clicking next and I am loading the files in this order. (I am deleting the c drive partition before laying down the images) 1.Dell File 2.C Drive 3.System Recovery (making it bootable option checked) Am I doing this wrong? Does anyone know the correct order to lay down the images, and what options I need to have checked when doing a recovery on this machine? So far I have gotten a missing boot file error then telling me to ctrl+alt+delete+, The error I have gotten the most is a black screen with a blinking cursor...... I am stumped on what options may need to be checked within the 3 different files and which order to lay them down. Any and all support is much appreciated, if you need more details please let me know what you need. Thanks, Joshua3.1KViews2likes21CommentsSSR Restore Anywhere cannot add storage driver megasr1.sys
I am restoring Windows 2008 R2 to dissimilar hardware. Having a terrible time getting Restore Anywhere to load the mass storage drivers. I know that I have the correct drivers from Intel's site. The server has Intel ESRT II (embedded server raid technology II). The SSR Recovery CD will load the 32 bit driver so the drive is selectable as a target. However, when the restore starts and prompts for the storage driver it just won't accept the driver The message is No matching driver could be found for device pci\ven_8086dev_1d6csubsys_35838086.devicedes Embedded Server Raid Technology II I have seen several articles that reference this very issue and indicate the SSR Recovery CD doesn't include this vendor driver description so it will not load. I have looked in the XML file on the Receovery CD and indeed don't see the full vendor description listed above. What is the fix to get around this issue?3.1KViews0likes8Comments
