DataDomain To StoreOnce Migration
Hello, I'm a new guy in my organization and was tasked to migrate our current NetBackup (7.7.3) storage system from Dell DataDomain to a new one, HPE StoreOnce 5260. I've searched for relevant information on Google but haven't had any success. Would you be able to supply any knowledge base articles, or a detailed guide for this process? From what I understand, StoreOnce offers a plugin for Veritas. Should I install this plugin initially, or is it necessary for the migration and operation at all? Thanks for your assistance.954Views0likes3CommentsConfigure StoreOnce to NetBackup 9.1.01
I"ve successfully installed the StoreOnce plugin on the NetBackup server: Plugin Info: Plugin Name: libstspihpeMT.so Prefix: hp-StoreOnceCatalyst Label: HPE OST Plugin Build Version: 11 Build Version Minor: 1 Operating Version: 11 Vendor Version: v4.3.0 r2 Also, configured the StoreOnce for ALL Client Access and created a "Store" . I am able to ssh to the StoreOnce ( via the IP ) from the NetBackup server, so connectivity isn't a problem. However, I'm not sure what values to put in for "Storage server type" and "Storage server name" when I'm in the "Configure Disk Storage Servers" wizard of the NetBackup GUI . Please see attached. Any ideas ? Thanks, wb238w822Views0likes0CommentsHP StoreOnce 5100 w/ OST Driver 4.1.1.1 and job slowness?
We have been running Backup Exec 16 on 2012R2, with the OST 2.01 driver for about 5 months. I was noticing some tape not found errors, and also noticed the OST driver was updated to 4.1.1.1 and it included Server 2016 support and other additions. I updated one of our BE servers to it, and noticed the tape not found errors no longer randonly show up, however our backup times have doubled, and in some cases tripled. Same for the duplication processes as well. For both physical and virtual servers. Has anyone been noticing this? HPE just suggests allowing more streams per backup, but I think they don't realize that is a Netbackup feature, and not Backup Exec.1.1KViews0likes3Comments
