SSR 2011 not showing failed or missed backups.
Hi, I'm using a SSR 2011 Management Solutions. Here i've setup 2 policy's and 1 filter, meaning that a client receives 2 Backup Jobs. Through the Management Agent the SSR 2011 on the client does receive its Jobs. Each Jobs has a different destination. When the first Job has been done succesfully but the second Job has failed. It reports to the home screen that the system has been fully backed up. The Jobs are running every week, but i found a Computer that had missed a job for half an year without reporting that it has missed a job. How do i change this that every missed or failed job is reported. With Kind regards and thanks in forward, Dennis VelthuisSolved2KViews0likes31CommentsSSR Backups constantly fail
I am running SSR2013 on a Windows2012R2 server trying to back up the two local drives to a NAS device with a shadow copy to a USB drive but it costantly fails with the following: --Unable to write to file. ---Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' ---Unable to set file size. ----Error EBAB03F1: Following Operating System error occurred while performing requested operation: 'An unexpected network error occurred.' (UMI:V-281-2001-31) I have checked the following: There is enough hard drive space on the NAS All of the permissions are correct There are no obviously associated event log entries The job starts and creates three ".tmp" files for the bakup of C: and up to 4 ".tmp" file for X: and then it fails. There were about 21 ".tmp" files for the X: drive the one and only time it worked and the system is set to split the files at 9.4GB in size. The server is hosting two Hyper-V guests and the VHDX files are on the X: drive. The annoying thing is that the backup worked once last week (running a base backup) and then we had two differentials as well but this week absolutely nothing will work. I have set it up to create a new base backup each week with Diffs every other day (mon-fri) If anyone has any ideas please let me know.1.9KViews0likes5CommentsCannot mount the recovery point in SSR 2011
Hi, This is a 2 week old install, on an SBS 2011 server, backing up to a folder share on a 2003 member server. When I try to run the "Recover My Files" task, and search for a file, I get an error dialogue box appear, saying "Cannot mount the recovery point (\\servername\d$\Backups\server_local disk0-2_drive001_i007.iv2). Result (0xe98f002c 27 RPAM_FAILED_ADD_MOUNT_POINT Args [0];)" None of my recovery points will mount. I am able to browse to this location. We are currently using Symantec System Recovery 2011 to backup a database of image files. It has worked perfectly for some time now. But about two weeks ago I started getting the following error..... Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Drive Backup of Storage (E:\). Error E7B70001: Win32/Win64 API DeviceIoControl(IOCTL_VSNAP_VDIFF_STOP) failed. Error EBAB03F1: The device does not recognize the command. (UMI:V-281-3215-6071) Nothing has been updated since I think this product was abandond by Symantec it hasn't seen an update since it was installed. The disk appears to be running fine and error free. I have no idea why this started or how to fix it. A google turned up no results which I don't think has ever happend. Any input would be greatly appreciated.1.5KViews2likes10CommentsHow to restore an backup of system after re-installing windows
Hi, I installed Symantec System Recovery backed up my system. It produced a file\folder package as seen in the attachment (capture001.png). I then restored my system to factory defaults This is esentially a complete re-install of windows from a recovery partition I then did the experimentation that I needed to do with "fresh" system I then re-installed Symantec System Recovery and was looking to restore back to the original backed up version, but am not sure how to do that. The obvious route of using "Recover my Computer" is intended for when the backups have been taken on the same system. In my case I've done the windows re-install in between so obviously in that table there's no backups listed. Then I thought there must be a way to import the backup I have stored (capture001.png) There's Recover my Computer\Tasks\Custom recovery option which brings up a wizard that requires to provide a single recovery point filename and expected filetype is V2I In my backu up folder I have 3 of those (I asume tehre were 3 partitions backed up in the process of doing full system backup) So which one should I pick? (Capture002.png) Should be the C Drive I suppose, but I'm not sure. I wonder if there's some magic way to restore all 3 of the files at the same time? Also if I'm restoring the C: should I be choosing all of these options (Capture003.png) ? How would this restore work if I'm restoring the system of which I'm currently running of? Does it reboot and then do some magic before windows has loaded? Surely windows c drive cannot be overwritten while OS is runing of off the same drive. Any advice would be helpful. Good Afternoon I have been attempting to get a 2003 SP2 x64 server recovered onto a different machine. I have tried numerous times using the SRD's that I made earlier today (one English and one Multilingual) but i've had no success with either as both stop at the "Windows is loading files" screen. The oddity is that the discs work perfectly fine on my machine, but not onto the one that I am wanting to use as the new server box - both are the same machines in near enough all respects (bar a little bit of extra RAM in my machine) so there shouldn't be any real concieveable reason why it isn't working. I have also tried switching the machine out with a same spec but different batch machine with again no luck. We have a 4th machine currently working on a Server 2008 R2 enviroment, so the machines can take the server software. Would there be any particular reason why they are not working? I've even resorted to using older versions to get this sorted but to no luck - the most success I have had is with the Ghost suite, but that still will not restore the backup correctly (which it isn't meant for admittedly). Should I try the SRD being on a memory stick rather than on a CD? Many thanks ShearlineSolved1.1KViews0likes9CommentsSystem Recovery Error E1AD78A5
I am getting Error E1AD78A5 when attempting to setup a new backup using Symantec System Recovery 2011 Desktop Edition, 10.0.1.41704 The exact error screen is: I get this in the Define Backup Wizard, on the screen where you set the Backup Destination. It does not allow me to put in a username and/or password, but I am able to map a location. This is on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Many other machines in our organization that have the same configuration have worked without this error.1.1KViews1like7Commentsbacking when the source is a network drive in other host
