VCS 6.2 Agents for Adabas and MariaDB
Hi colleagues, For a customer I have to integrate two seperate databases into VCS 6.2 running on Oracle Linux. However I have no experience with both of them. And I could not find anything on SORT. Could someone point me to the right direction regarding the VCS Agents? MariaDB The first one is MariaDB. However I can not find anything about MariaDB together with VCS. As I found out MariaDB is a spinoff from MySQL since the Oracle/Sun merge, it's very simular to MySQL. Does this mean I can use the same datbase resource as one would use for MySQL? Or is there a sperate one? I assume MariaDB works seemless with VCS 6.2, since I saw this Release Note of SFHA 6.2 stating "Performance improvements forMySQL and MariaDB applications". From what I learned from Google, I see there was a Partner Agent for VCS 4.1 MP1, but only for Solaris on SPARC or Solaris on x86. But no Linux. That is confirmed in the lit of Partner Agents in the "vcs_agent_support_matrix" spreadsheet (only Solaris on SPARC or x86, but no Linux). I also found a Symantec Article about an issue with the Adabas Agent for VCS 6.1 on SPARC/Solaris, but I can not find the Linux Agent on SORT. According to this Symantec Article the Agent should be released under the STEP (Symantec™ Technology Enabled Program). VCS Database Service Group Service Group Fails After Initiating Offline
Hi, We have 2 Storage Foundation for Oracle RAC 5.1SP1 serversrunning on AIX 5.3 Servers. We have Application Service Groupand DatabaseService Groupwhich is both active active. I encountered a problem when i initiated manual offline of the Service group. Application Service Group is ok. But in the Database Service Group it failedand the 2 servers unpectedly restarted and i encountered split-brain condition. Hi, I was wondering if someone has some additional information regarding how to setup my cluster... I have both VCS (inclusing Storage Foundation) and Linux knowledge. I do however have no background in SAP. And as SAP is a very complex product, I can not see the forest because of the trees... Setup 2 node (active-passive) cluster of Oracle Linux 6.5 nodes. Veritas Storage Foundation HA (= VxVM + DMP + VCS). Oracle 11.2 as database. SAP ECC 6.0 Apart from the Installation & Configuration guide on the SAP NetWeaver Agent, I found little information about implementing SAP in VCS. Source: "Symantec™ High Availability Agent for SAP NetWeaver Installation and Configuration Guide for Linux 6.2". But unfortunately I can not find a howto, guide or whatever from Symantec, nor from the usual Google attempts. My customer is however also not very SAP knowledged. From what I understand it is a very basic SAP setup, if not the simplest. They are using SAP ECC6.0 and an Oracle 11.2 database. So I assume they are just having a Central Instance and the Database. After some Google resource, I found out that SAP ECC 6.0 is technically a SAP NetWeaver 7.0. On Symantec SORT, I found 3 versions of SAP NetWeaver. InstName Attribute Another thing is the InstName Attribute. This also does not correspond with the information I have. My SAP intance is T30. So the syntax is correct more or less, but it isn't listed below. Which is important also to decide on the value for the ProcMon Attribute The SAPSID and InstName form a unique identifier that can identify the processes running for a particular instance. So I guess I should use the name of my SAP Agent Resouce from my SAP Service Group? EnqSrvResName Attribute: The name of the VCS resource for SAP Central Services (A)SCS Instance. This attribute is used by Enqueue and Enqueue Replication Server. Using this attribute the Enqueue server queries the Enqueue Replication Server resource state while determining the fail over target and vice a versa. VCS Setup - "Install A Clustered Master Server" Greyed Out

I have built2 new servers, installed SFHA / VCS 6.0.1and configured disks / volumes / disk groups / VVR replication. The VCS installation has not been modified or customised in any way as from my understanding the NBU installation will create its own service group. I have carried out the initial configuration and added the remote cluster node. Within cluster explorer, the defaultClusterService service group is all up and running, the global cluster option is enabled andthe remote cluster status also shows that the other cluster is up. We have veritas cluster version -5 running on solaris 10. We need to migrate the storage to a new array. Mirrioring volumes is not possible as there are many diskgroups and volumes. The plan is to sync all the LUN's to new array and siwtch the cables,deport and import disk groups. Hello Experts, We have a two node active-passive VCS 6.0 cluster running in Solaris LDOM on T4-1 servers. Two virtual interfaces (Vnet0 and Vnet1)are configured from the control domain using igb2/igb4. vnet0 and vnet1 using solaris ipmp. The cluster IP is configured as a virtual IP on top of vnet0 as its comes online as vnet0:1. Out external connectivity must happen only from Cluster virtual IP on vnet01:1, but the network team informed that no traffic coming from cluster vitual IP. The firewall only receives the packets from the host IP which was configured on vnet0. Can anyone tell me , how to configure the VCS to forward the traffic from cluster IP to only a particular destination. We have configured the resources using MutliNICB/IPMultiNICB. Failover for VCS Global Cluster Setup: Veritas Storage foundation HA for Windows v6.1 Single node Local cluster Single node Remote cluster Data replicated between clusters via VVR A Global cluster will only failover to the remote cluster if the entire local cluster dies However if a Service Group fails on the local cluster it will not initiate a failover to the remote cluster. Is there a way around this since we have single node clusters?
