Backup Exec 2014 duplicate backup sets without encryption?
Hi, As above really! We are backing up our servers using BE definedpassphrase (256 bit AES encryption) on our LTO5/6 drives. We are going to start supporting an external company and rather than dedicate separate media sets (And tapes)to this company what we want to do is the following: Setup their jobs to append to our tapes using our current encryption key In the extremely unlikely scenario that they want a copy of their backups I do not want to give them our tapes (Just incase they get into our data). So what I want to do is duplicate their backup sets onto an unencrypted tape. When I select a backup set and select the Duplicate option there is an option about encryption which Symantec mentions can be used to encrypt unencrypted backup sets. It also mentions that if a different encryption key is specified only unencrypted data will be encrypted with this key. So I am wondering if I select no encryption will it simply make an encrypted copy, or will it make an unencrypted copy?

How to delegate the backup and restore to local IT
Hi, we are installing Backup Exec 2010 R2 in our remote sites, I need to delegate the backup and restore tasks to my local ITs. they have a account with delegation in Our Active Directory2008 and Exchange 2007 environnements. they are not part of the domain admin group. how can give them just necessary permission to backup and restore on the server that are installed on their site ? the service account used, is part of domain admin group and has a specific right that are mentionned in Quick Start Guide. thank You

Can't upgrade from Backup Exec 2012 SP4 to 2015 due to deduplication option
ISSUE : Message Displays' While upgrading From BE 2012 SP4 to BE 15 MESSAGE :Deduplication Option is no longer licensed in this upgrade. You may not remove the license during the upgrade. To continue, either add a serial number for Deduplication Option, upgrade as trial, or remove the option in the previous version, then continue the upgrade Solution: Openregedit, navigate to: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\... Delete the \Puredisk\ registry key and it's child \Puredisk\Agent\. If you have never installed, trialed, used or licensed dedupe at all these keys will be completely empty of values Quit and re-run the Installation. The wizard should continue past this point and straight to the options screen. This should allow you to install/upgrade BE 15 with licenses the first time, without having to go through the trial install first. You are good to go

We prepare new server with differet IP and NAME.The new server should be in HA.and we need to migratev to new server. So i need know how we migrate the catalog folder in new server??
