Client - Media - PureDisk Linux network traffic
Hello everyone. We have a backup solution and I am trying to find a bottleneck. Configuration is as follows: Veritas SFHA clustered Master server running NBU 7.5.0.6 on RHEL6.1. Number of Media servers. And 3 pairs of PureDisk 6.5.5 pools as a storage servers. My concern is: How does network traffic flow during backup assuming clientside deduplication is enabled? I tried tcpdump and appears that it is client - media - puredisk and vica-versa. But there are nbstproxy processes. Appreciate on any assistance. Thank you.Solved4.1KViews0likes2Comments

Universal Restore
Hello all, This is my first post ever to a forum and I believe it's a bit of a problem. I work for a small IT Support firm. We have a customer that has a few C&C machines that run from the blueprints and software off of Window 7 machines. We were notified by manufacture of the machines there is a voltage flux in the machines that are prone to destorying the PCs connected to the machine. Our customer would like us to take an image of the computers and be able to reinstall the images taken on new hardware, computers that have different hardware configurations, all without losing any information, programs and computer OS. I'm looking for ideas on how this can be done. I've read it can be done, just not sure how to approach the problem, so I'm looking for some ideas. Hi All, Trying to configure deduplication in a multi netbackup environment but getting error media write error 84( Optimised duplication not supported when source and target server are the same) Dont know what i m doing wrong..Below is the environment.. 1-Two netbackup server's both are configured as master and media server..both having different MSDP configured.. 2-if i removed the deduplication and configured replication only then it works fine, but whenever deduplication is configuring getting error media write error 84.. 3-Attaching the snapshot of SLP..I think i m not able to configured target server in SLP..i read lot of docs but nothing works Thanks in advance..Solved3.4KViews1like1CommentUnable to change SMTP setting in Puredisk 6.6.5
According to p220 in the "Symantec NetBackup PureDisk™ Backup Operator Guide Release 6.6.4" and my own experiance (on other SPA's). The SMTP setting for event/policy escalations is set in the Gui at Settings>Configuration>Configuration File Templates> PureDisk Server Agent> Default ValueSet for Puredisk Server Agent>mail>smtpserver This is seperate from the SMTP settings in the Puredisk topology. When I attempt to change the IP of the SMTP server I get an error. I have also tried deleting the entry and recreating it but get a similiar outcome. I looked through the Puredisk CLI manual but can not find a CLI way of changing this setting. Here is what the error looks like In the web page. CLI Command For Dedup Rates
NBU Experts, Do any of you know if there is a CLI command that can tell the dedup rate for all the images created, and stored in a PureDisk pool? For examaple, if I run bpimagelist on the master server I get some good info, but not the dedup rate for each image. Goodmornig, I have a structure with 3 nodes: GBACKS1 (this is the storage pool autority) GBACKS2 GBACKS3 From 4 days I have this critical alert from GBACKS3: []Could not synchronize time with GBACKS1P I checked the time from O.S. level and it is the same. I would say: - how puredisk sincronize time between nodes ( is there a policy or a job that runs?) - how can I check time from storage pool autority of nodes - how can I solve problem.
