VMware VM "needs consolidation" after backup failure
Has anyone else run into this issue? VM backup fails with a "Status 13" or "Status 156" or "Status 40" - I have several hundred VMs and only a few end up in this state during a backup window. No snapshots show up in Snapshot Manager on the VMs that have this error. When consolidation is attempted VMware throws a "Unable to access file <unspecified filename> since it is locked" error. The "fix" for us has been to run "services.sh restart" on the ESXi server - this unlocks the file - then manually consolidating the VM. Sounds a lot like this issue: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/problem-backup-virtual-machine-when-vm-convert-status-consolidate Master: 7.6.0.2 on Solaris 10 Media: 2.6.0.2 on 5220 Appliances17KViews3likes11CommentsCorrect usage of "bptestbpcd -clear_host_cache"

Hello, We have one Backup client that’s getting the code 155 disk full error NetBackup status code: 155 Message: disk is full Explanation: The write to the catalog file failed because the disk that contains the catalog database is full, or the track log folder is full. Recommended Action: Free up space on the disks where NetBackup catalogs reside or where the track log folder resides and retry the operation. Question for freeing up space on where the track log folder resides are there specific files that we can delete without the intervention of the AIX sysadmin? I don’t want to delete something that is important. Hello, not sure if I am posting this correctly ( just joined with a new user account). The topic "Cannot log into GUI, status 526" seems to fit my stuation, but the solution does not seem to apply to me.So when I try to log onto Netbackup admin console ( NB ver 8.1.2) from Win 10, I get status 526 Cannot Connect to the PBX service.I have master server on Centos 7; media server on Win server 2008R2; and have i500 for automatic tape library; and VNX5400 for NDMP backup/restore. I think the problem started in BAR GUI, as I was trying to do a NDMP restore on a folder; I think I incorrectly selected a Full backup and 2 incremental backups after the Full backup (3 backups all at once) and clicked on “Start Restore”; the GUI got hung, and Netbackup never recovered from that. I restarted Netbackup processes ( bp.killl_all, bp_start_all). I also tried rebooting the master server and the media server. But the problem never cleared up; I cannot login to the admin console, and the nackups do not seem to be running. I also tried to restart PBX process, etc. without success. Any help would be appreciated.Solved5.5KViews0likes19CommentsHow to change the media pool of and assigned media (change volume pool)
