Backup Exec 2012 health check guide
Hi, i'm a newbie to this backup exec 2012, and recently we have active contract on supporting this Backup Exec 2012. By supporting this, we need to perform health check or software preventive maintenance on the servers equipped with backup exec 2012 on quarterly basis. Just want to know that whether there are some guidelines or procedures/steps on what we need to include in the health check such as services, connections, patches? Please share with me if anyone know how to prepare a backup exec 2012 health check checklist in order to perform the preventive maintenance for the servers. Hi, I have been facing a problem with tapes. Most of the times required tapes are already available in the physical libraries, but not assigned to any logical library. At the same time, if i run the inventory on the master server, i can't see the tapes. So each time, I have to confirm with the data center person to know the status of the tapes and then i assign it to logical libraries. Can it be possible, that the moment any tapes get loaded to the library, it will be auto-assigned to the concerned logical library? Please advise. Greetings, We have netbackup 6.5 and I have been asked to create a report of what is getting backed up. I can use bpplclients to get a list of client hosts, but do not see anything that gives me a reasonable report on what is covered aside frombpcoverage (or check_coverage)whichtakes 3-4 minutes for each host, and won't tell me about rman backups. bpcoverage has a -no_client_query option, but that doesn't work with "coverage" report which is the one I am interested in. Aside from that, I like the format, and the information is okay. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thank you! I don't know how they got into Offline Media but I need to get them back into Online Media the media in the Online Media show a Media Location of 'Backup-to-disk Folder 1' the media in the Offline Media show nothing in media location. I'm on Backup Exec 12 Any ideas how to make this space useable again?768Views1like3CommentsRestore computer from recovery point
When backing up a complete drive, when Icreate a base with several incremental recovery points, if Ineed to restore, I just want to confirm that I do NOT have to restore the base first then a sequential restore using the incrementals in chronological order. I just select the recovery point Iwant to restore from - even thou that recovery point may be a fraction of the size of the base - and that recovery point will restore my drive back to full at the time of that recovery point? Is this correct? So the incremental points must be linked to the base. Thanks Gi1.1KViews1like6Comments
