Ratios Explanation
Can someone explain the deduplication ratios? I don't see anything in the Admin Guide for this and curcious how these numbers are being generated.

I have a Solaris 10 master/media server running 7.0.1and a Solaris 10media server (7.0.1) with a direct connected C4 Tape library. . . a;sldkfja;sldfj I am trying to backup a NetApp partition to the aforementioned C4 Tape Library using an NDMP policy. Downloading the trail version of veritas netbackup 7
In 2010, in which address Icould downloadthe trail versionof veritas netbackup 7? I've been using veritas netbackup 6.5.4 + vmware vshpere, using the vdr tobackup vms. Backuping vms with Netbackup 6.5.4 require too much disk space. VDR can not back up other content in windows, resulting in I had two data backup centers. Depressed. To find a lot of addresses, and not now.

BackupExec asking for 2nd tape reporting 1st tape full when Job is only half of capacity of tapes
Any suggestions? I applied HotFix 336718 last week (on Backup Exec 12) that did not fix the problem. I upgraded to 12.5 (applied SP3) and the problem remains the same. Backup Job is set to overwrite, Job Defaults is set for NO overwrite protection under Media Management. I must be missing something very simple, I hope. Thank you in advance for any assistance.

job status - complete with exceptions
there are some backup jobs run in Backup Exec 2012 , only two full backup jobs complete with exceptions in the lastest backup task. The credential of this backup job test result was failed. we haven't change any password or credential of this job. Backup to disk folders configuration for GFS bacup
We have two external usb disk drives. We would like to implement a grandfather, father son configuration to perform daily backups Monday- Thursday (Differential). Then we would like to have a full backup every Friday, and a full monthly backup. We need support on how to configure the backup to disk folders create the media sets, set the correct overwrite/ append protection levels. Anysupport would be appreciated.

ACLS SL8500 configuration
Hi Guys, I am tring to make sense on how to add a SL8500 robotwhich currently uses ACLS software to Netbackup. Has anyone done this before? Any help is appreciated. What are some of the big differences between adding this type of robot and any other robot with drives. The way I understand it so far, it that the ACLS software controls all media movements and Netbackup is like a client to this software. But when I actually configure it in NBUwhat would be some differences, I would think you add it as a Storage group as per normal. Thank you

Auto-assignment of tapes in logical library
Hi, I have been facing a problem with tapes. Most of the times required tapes are already available in the physical libraries, but not assigned to any logical library. At the same time, if i run the inventory on the master server, i can't see the tapes. So each time, I have to confirm with the data center person to know the status of the tapes and then i assign it to logical libraries. Can it be possible, that the moment any tapes get loaded to the library, it will be auto-assigned to the concerned logical library? Please advise. Thanks, Satyajit
