Replicating CFS volumes
I have a two nodes VCS cluster on the Production and the same configuration on the DR site. I have six disk groups, each disk group contain one or two volumes mounted as CFS on both cluster nodes. I need to replicate all volumes from Prod to DR using Veritas Volume Replicator. What is the best way to replicate thoses volumes? PS: There is no communication between the VCS on prod and DR execpt for the IPs that will be used for replciation.2.2KViews0likes1CommentSQL Wizard is unable to detect Service group

Hello all. VCS simulator has been around for quite a while and it is a really usefull tool both for testing cluster configuration files before put them in production and for DEMO purposes which is my case and that's why I'm writing this post. Is there any user guide or document explaining how to use or how are configured the included cluster configuration examples? I've been able to understand some cluster examples and use some features, but some other cluster examples seem like some configuration is required to make them work but as there's no information (to my knowledge) on how they are configured, I haven't been able to find a way to make this cluster examples work. Really appreciate any guidance that points my into the right direction.1.5KViews0likes2CommentsVCS discovery windows
Hello Experts, As part of a monitoring solution, we have been relying upon the presence of below registry keys to detect presence of a VCS on Windows, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\VC HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\VCS\Base This however seems to be unreliable leading to false positives. I want an approach(could be a registry key/value) to detect a VCS with certinity on a Windows. Thank you! Ashish1KViews0likes1CommentVCS on Linux using NPAR and VLAN tagging
I’m trying to enable a new configuration using NPAR and VLAN tagging to create private heartbeat networks. Which tool should I use to create my heartbeat interfaces which need to be vlan tagged? Does anyone know if the tagged interface should share the MAC of the real interface or should I try to create a unique MAC through software? I have been thinking for sometime now about the Veritas NetBackup certification. I have been managing 3 NetBackup domains for more than 3yrs now. Even though my employer does not require me to pass the certification, I think it would be definitely a feather in the cap and also a good way to have a thorough review of administration and troubleshooting. From Curriculum path design, I think the VCS-274* should be my objective. I was thinking of reviewing the Administration Vol1 & 2 and Troubleshooting guide for the preparation. However, is there any resource where I can sample questions to gague where I current knowledge stands? E.g. 2 or 3 practice tests of even half the size of actual test would be nice. For those who have taken the exam for certification, and I know there are quite a few names of this community which come to mind, what pointers do you suggest for prospective students? * - Or is it VCS-275, as "Administration of Veritas NetBackup" bubble links to VCS-275, which has the title "VCS-275: Administration of Veritas NetBackup 7.7 and NetBackup Appliances 2.7".921Views0likes2CommentsRecommendation required Upgrading NBU from V8.1.2 to V9.X.X best Stable version in VCS cluster
