EV11.0.1 SCOM EVWebsiteConnectivity.monitor error
Hello all, We use SCOM to monitor our EV environment, and we see on one of our installs the following alert: Source: http://evservername.domain.com:80/EnterpriseVaultAPI Full Path Name: evservername.domain.com\servername\Common\Server connectivity\http://evservername.domain.com:80/EnterpriseVaultAPI Alert Monitor: EVWebsiteConnectivity.Monitor Created: 20/04/2015 11:24:48 Alert Description: Cannot connect to website on server evservername. Website URL: http://evservername.domain.com:80/EnterpriseVaultAPI There are no events in the eventlogs (Enterprise Vault, System, Application). There are no issues reported using the search, There are no other issues reported. Does anyone know if this warning is a false alert? I do not see a reason to investigate or try to fix, but the SCOM team worries there is something wrong what needs to be fixed. this environment has been upgraded from 10SP4CHF2 to EV11SP1CHF1 on 18/04/2015 without issues. Hello, Currently when I click the restore button for an email I am presented with a dialog that has 3 fields: Microsoft Exchange Server: Mailbox: Folder: (This is read only and currently only allows restoring to the 'restored items' folder) 1. Is there any way to auto populate theMicrosoft Exchange Server field with a value as the end users aren't going to have a clue what to put in there... 2. Auto populate the Mailbox for the username that is accessing theviewmessage.asp page 3. Migration Tool Can't Connect to Directory
I ran through a test migration/upgrade from 9.0.4 to 10.0.2 in my lab today. Everything seemed to work OK, and all checks and steps passed. However, now that I'm on my new 10 server, I can't open the admin console, and am getting this event repeatedly logged: Event ID 8623 Cannot connect to the Enterprise Vault Directory service. Check the Enterprise Vault event log on OLDSERVERNAME.domain.com to find the cause of the problem. I am using an alias, so nothing should be pointing to this name. My alias DNS entry has been updated, and is pointing to the new server. Up until about 2 weeks ago, my lab was not using an alias, so I ran through this KB to change it: TECH179428. Archive bit on Legato incremental backup
Hey guys, I just started to support a new EV environment. Unfortunaley I find a huge backlog of savesets during the week. It looks like that only the full backup on the weekend successfully sets the archive bit. When the incremental backup is executed it does not change the archive bit. Enterprise Vault 9.03 on Windows server 2008 R2 SP1 Backup Server: IBM x3650 server NetWorker Server 7.6.5 Build 7 Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2 Our backup specialist told me, that Legato is very simple to set up and that there is no difference in the settings from full to incremental backup. So is Legato in that Version not able to set the archive bit during the incremental backup by design? I'm just asking here because here are a lot of experienced guys who work with the most different backup tools. Otherwise I have to ask EMC. Regards, ChrisSolved518Views5likes3Comments
failed to retrieve archived email was attached in normal receive email
Dear gents, i need your help and support on this issue that faced me , i received normal email but has archived email attached as attachment, so when i tried to open this archived email, two tnterfaces appearing for me on of them is(the enterprise vault is retrieving your item, your password may be required )and another one ask me about the user name and password, but when i tried to provide my user name and password thats failed, and it seem normal for me because as showing on thesnapshot that i attached here that the outlook is trying to connect to evserver-05 that is different from the EV server that the archiving task for the exchange server that my mailbox on it is created, beacause my mailbox was enabled on evserver-06. i want to notify that issue faced a lot of users here on my site, so do i need to restere the archived email before attahed it or not. so based on that, there are any configuration should be modified on policies or that related to (IIS)? thanks for supporting again.Solved1.4KViews5likes6Comments

Enterprise Vault Showing on Toolbar, but no "Configure Vault Cache" in File menu
Hi, 1 user has the 10.0.2.1210 Add-In enabled in Outlook but no Vault Cache or Configure Vault Cache in the File menu. No Search Archive or Archive Explorer in his webmail either. Yet he can access his archive via ArchiveExplorerUI.asp and Search.asp web pages. Mailbox content is still being archived based on our age rules. Desktop policies are the same for all 16,000 users so I don't believe it's policy related. The issue is very similar to http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/enterprise-vault-showing-toolbar-vault-missing-folder-list which lists enable (disable/enable) the user for archiving associating it with the existing archive (and possibly ZAP permissions) as the solution. My issue is that I'd like to understand how either would help if the user can access the archive via the web and why age-based archiving is continuing. Using EV for MS Exchange 9.0.4 CHF4 on Windows 2008 R2 SP1, Vault Cache not shortcuts, Exchange 2010 SP3 RU6 and Windows 7 SP1 clients. Afternoon all I need to move my Vault Store Partitionsto new storage, and am using the following TechNote to achieve my goals http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH35742 I intend to use XCopy to copy the data My question is, do I have to wait for the backups to complete (step 1) before I copy the data across (step 2), or should I wait for the data to be backed up and then copy the data across? Export to PST not exporting all items
Hello all, I need to export all items from the personal folder of a user (not under inbox). So I run through the archive export wizard, export PST and select the folder \Personal. I make sure I've selected export items from subfolders below root too. When I export, it only exports about 1100 of an expected 23K items. Just looking at the root folder - which has 451 items - I can see nothing has been exported from there. Export report says nothing has failed: Results Summary: --------------------------------------- User Name: Processed Storage server: ServerName Exported = 1108; Failed = 0; Remaining = 0 (0%) Number of PST files/.cfg files created: 1 Number archives processed: 1 Number archives being processed: 0 Number archives part processed: 0 Number archives not processed: 0 Number archives failed: 0 {end of report} The user did move their items into this folder from elsewhere but they are showing as expected in search. There are no shortcuts for some of these messages but I can't see how that would be relevant to the archive export. Any ideas?Solved4.3KViews4likes7Comments
