Cannot obtain settings for the Agent For Windows publishing from the registry
Hello. Our Backup Exec version 16 is running on a Windows Server 2016. We are unable to upgrade it because we run a software on one server that can only be supported on Windows Server 2003. The Windows 2003 server was suddenly not backing up properly. Restart did not work and I reinstalled the agent. Now when I try to install it, it does not show up in my backup exec because you need to enable publishing in the Agent on the 2003 server. However, when I try to do that by going to the publishing tab, I get an error message "Cannot obtain settings for the Agent For Windows publishing from the registry". It then goes to the tab but the checkmark is greyed out. I also noticed the Backup Exec Agent for Windows service is stopped. It automatically closes if you try to start it saying it closes it if the service is not in use. I have tried both installing the agent manually and pushing from the backup exec server. It installs fine but you cannot enable the publishing. I also tried deleting every backup exec file, folder, and registry key I could find to fully reset it before reinstalling. I have an ancient tape backup sysytem that I use as a redudndant data backup for my Netapp FAS2020 filer. It has worked flawlessly for 7 or 8 years, until a controller on the Netapp crashed last week. It was replaced and is running normally, and supposedly the same config was applied as prior to the crash. But ever since then my backups have been failing with Error Code E00846B: (Server: "DOCULEX") (Job: "NDMP-Policy 0001-Daily Backup") NDMP-Policy 0001-Daily Backup -- The job failed with the following error: The resource could not be backed up because an error occurred while connecting to the Backup Exec for Windows Servers Remote Agent. Make sure that the correct version of the Remote Agent is installed and running on the target computer. If the server or resource no longer exists, remove it from the selection list. Edit the selection list properties, click the View Selection Details tab, and then remove the resource. I have deleted and recreated the items in the selection list, tried two different logons to the device, rebvooted teh media server, ascertained that the media server can ping the Netapp. I am at a loss. Now I need to restore from one of the old media folders, I copied it back to the original location, I ran catalog and inventory of the media successfully, but the restore failed. Hi, I'm unable to install agent remotely nor directly on Windows 2003 R2 server. Hello guys. I have new-installed Veritas Backup 16 (on Windows Server 2012R2) I have MS Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2003 R2 x64bit I configure everyday B2D-job with full backup of MS Exchange bases with GRT (only Exchange-bases no any other files) And I have two problems with it 1. Every job is finished with error V-79-57344-65193 for some of Information store (not for all, only for two from three). I check this article in KB and do all reccomendations but no result 2. When i try to restore any item from GRT-backup (for example one email) i get BROWSE FAILURE. The volume that is used for the staging location must be a writable NTFS volume that is local to the Backup Exec server. Also, the volume must have the same sector size as the volume from which the Exchange log files were backet up. or for some cases the next Unable to complete the operation. The following error was returned when opening the Exchange Database file: '-546 The log file sector size does not match the sector size of the current volumn. " I check sector size for Exchange Server and for Backup Exec server(special folder on local disk, which i point GRT-restore path in Global Settings Backup Exec. Exchange: Bytes Per Sector : 512 Bytes Per Cluster : 4096 Bytes Per FileRecord Segment : 1024 Backup Exec: Bytes Per Sector : 512 Bytes Per Physical Sector : 4096 Bytes Per Cluster : 4096 Bytes Per FileRecord Segment : 1024 So it looks like the same. Hi Team My daily and weekly backups are running succssfully. But unfortunately, last week full backup jobs( Fridaby and Saturday backups)are not at all started. Hi All, I hope somebody can help me. I have a HP autoloader 4048 that had 2 * internal LTO4 drives. We replaced the 2 drives with LTO5 drives. In backup exec 2010D/device manager I can see the drives ok and have added them to device pool , one will run a backup/restore but the 2nd one just stays in a queued state.
