Service Backup Exec Server crash with Backup exec 2010 R3
Hello, Since 15/02/2018 the Backup Exec Server service has been stopping for no reason. So all my backups no longer work because the crash service. I specify that it's been years since my servers run without problems. This occurs on 8 different servers, in different countries, there has been no windows update or special changes on these servers. All these servers are windows 2008 R2 and backup exec 2010 R3 with the latest update. Has anyone ever had this problem and found a solution? Sincerely, Cedric.Solved10KViews1like15CommentsGetting Error V-79-40960-38521 when try to full vm backup

I have Backup Exec 2010 R3 installed on Windows 2008 R2. This is our legacy tape backup solution before we went to a disk based system. I have hundreds of tapes and keep Backup Exec around for old restores. We used to have a NetApp with CIFS shares and backed them up to tape via NDMP backups. The NetApp has been replaced with a new Nimble SAN. I am trying to do a restore of files from the NetApp tapes. Since I don't have a NetApp anymore I am trying to restore to a Windows box. I get the error below. How can I restore NetApp NDMP tapes to a Windows system? e0001315 - An invalid destination was specified for the redirected restore. NDMP backup sets can only be redirected to an NDMP server of the same brand.Solved5KViews0likes6CommentsBackground Processing issues with GRT
Hi We have backups with enabled GRT. We have Sharepoint 2013 backups and Exchange 2010 and 2003. We are currently experiencing intermittent jobs getting stuck with Background Processing and it could run for days and no budge. example: 0 of 87 backup selections processed for Granular Recovery Technology (GRT) The last time it ran succesfully is around 3.23GB in size, for 4 hours *(incremental job) Sharepoin 2013. It's getting stuck and it stays in background processing for days and nothing is happening. No Activity on backup storage and CPU ok. It's happening on both Sharepoint and Exchange backups. It doesn't finish completely. Only thing to do is cancel it. And most of the times, it goes to Cancel Pending and get stuck for hours and days. Does anyone have an advice pls? What to check? Hello folks. My organization is under ISO auditing and I'm reviewing my procedures documents and I have a security issue here that I'm not sure about: Is BE Encryption key responsible for preventing to restore backup data on a different server than the original one? If it is not, how can I prevent it from hapenning? For example, if I have my tapes stolen, how can I be sure that these files won't be accessed?Solved4.1KViews0likes9CommentsBackup failed

**** Moved to new post from https://vox.veritas.com/t5/NetBackup/NetApp-NFS-and-CIFS-backup/m-p/751907 **** My NetApp is Release 8.3, acting as a storage virutal machine which allows Windows based systems (server/PCs) to access via Windows style UNC (\\server\share). We used BackupExec 15 (ver 14.2), and we backup the NetApp using NDMP option, but later we found out we cannot restore the data to our old HP StorageWorks, so I have to configure backup of the NetApp using CIFS instead, but I always hit the error of "Access Denied". (1) What credentials should I use for BackupExec to connect to NetApp ? (2) Do I need other licenses ? (3) Do I have to disable NDMP on NetApp before I can use CIFS? Another other things I have to check ?3.7KViews0likes5CommentsInsert overwriteable media - not using full 6TB tape for backup
