BMR Restore won't start "Failed to verify backup--rc(1002)
Hi, We are running NBU 8.0 (both clients, medias, master), and these days I'm trying to perform a BMR restore on a W2008r2 client using NBU 8.0. We're not encountering any errors with the backup operations, but when we start a BMR Restore (USB Key Boot, as we always do here), we encounter: I don't know what clues or logs I should search for, as this is the first time I've encountered this error, and I can't find anything on the Veritas forums or elsewhere. (same problem with Prepare to Restore) Can anyone helps with this error rc(1002) ?478Views0likes2CommentsRestore from a standalone drive fail
I have old NetBackup setup and we have restore request now. FS Backup was done using a robotic library few years back and now the robot has broken. Tape devices are working fine, so we have configure the tape drive as stand alone drive for restore only. the required tape is loaded in the tape drive but the restore is failing with below error. ENVIRONMENT Netbackup Version = 8.1 OS = Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise De-Duplication = Configured QUERY For me it seems the backups are expired and no backup images exist on this Netbackup machine. Anyone have idea which let me assume that there are backups but need to figure out the issue on Netbackup machine DETAILS I came across in an issue where in a environment (around 6-8 months back) a netbackup machine was shutdown. As per the administrator the netbackup machine was a DR site machine and was getting sync via Netbackup AIR feature from a Primary site Netbackup server. Now yesterday the shutdown machine had to ON/Start. But unable to find backup OR catalog. Following are some snapshots as a reference Don't know what is this in MSDP pool813Views0likes4CommentsTape Drives show Missing Paths
Some of my tape drives are showing missing paths after a migration from one Fiber switch to another. I have validated that the zones are setup the same on the networking side (and even see the drives checked in, in the fiber database on the switches), I tried a solution from a previous post on one of the drives with the missing path(removing the drive and running tpautoconfig -a), but am not actually seeing the drive show back up after running tpautoconfig -a. Any assistance would be very helpful.6KViews0likes12CommentsQuestions about job history retention time in activity monitor& Logging
1) Is it corrct to add the new registry keys on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VERITAS\NetBackup\ CurrentVersion\Config? Like if it's 3 months duration -> KEEP_JOBS_HOURS = 2160 KEEP_JOBS_SUCCESSFUL_HOURS = 2160 2) I've found a option Logging on host properties> master server> global attributes.. Where can i see these logs on? Thanks.Solved822Views0likes2Commentsbpduplicate help.
We are moving to a colo and I need to get off of our physical tape library before the move. To do that, I need to get our offsite data to another storage unit in the cloud. I was going to use bpduplicate but I'm getting confused. With what understanding I have this is the command line I came up with. bpduplicate -npc -backupid <backup_id> -dstunit <storage unit in the cloud> -dp <pool name> I'm not sure if I can use -npc with -dstunit so I can take the -npc out. Would this line do what I want? Thanks, Dan997Views0likes4CommentsDecommissioning a NetBackup media server
Hi Using the nbdecomnission command you’d typically include the ‘old server’ and ‘new server’ switches to migrate the media ownership etc. if I just need to decommission an old media server where all existing images have already expired do I just use the nbdecommission command with the name of media server to be decommissioned but without specifying a ‘new server’ switch? Many thanks in advanceSolved1.3KViews0likes2CommentsSLP fail on a specific mdsp
Hi all, I have the impression that these SLP policies do not like me very much... Until recently they all worked well by correctly saving the images concerned by SLP policies. But recently, and without knowing why (reboot, loss of config, other?) I see status 191 errors appear for backup replications. I don't know how to explain it better, so I will simply copypasta job details of one of the multiples clients replication backup that fails : 24 oct. 2022 13:35:37 - requesting resource LCM_*Remote*Master*:AI-REP-ARCHIVES 24 oct. 2022 13:35:37 - granted resource LCM_*Remote*Master*:AI-REP-ARCHIVES 24 oct. 2022 13:35:41 - started process RUNCMD (pid=22208) 24 oct. 2022 13:35:42 - Info nbreplicate (pid=22208) Suspend window close behavior is not supported for nbreplicate 24 oct. 2022 13:35:42 - Info nbreplicate (pid=22208) window close behavior: Continue processing the current image 24 oct. 2022 13:35:47 - requesting resource @aaaar 24 oct. 2022 13:35:47 - reserving resource @aaaar 24 oct. 2022 13:35:49 - resource @aaaar reserved 24 oct. 2022 13:35:49 - granted resource MediaID=@aaaar;DiskVolume=PureDiskVolume;DiskPool=Disk_Pool_REP;Path=PureDiskVolume;StorageServer=srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm;MediaServer=srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm 24 oct. 2022 13:35:52 - Info bpdm (pid=9604) started 24 oct. 2022 13:35:52 - started process bpdm (pid=9604) 24 oct. 2022 13:36:01 - Info srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm (pid=9604) StorageServer=PureDisk:srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm; Report=PDDO Stats for (srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm): scanned: 5 KB, CR sent: 0 KB, CR sent over FC: 0 KB, dedup: 100.0%, cache disabled 24 oct. 2022 13:36:39 - Info srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm (pid=9604) Using OpenStorage to replicate backup id PC-AILOG12147_1666082526, media id @aaaar, storage server srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm, disk volume PureDiskVolume 24 oct. 2022 13:36:40 - Info srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm (pid=9604) Replicating images to target storage server srvv-nbu1-rep.process.dkm, disk volume PureDiskVolume 24 oct. 2022 13:37:00 - Critical bpdm (pid=9604) Storage Server Error: (Storage server: PureDisk:srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm) CALaunchAIRReplicate: Failed to complete launchAIRReplicate webservice (Could not setup replication: get Remote SPA ( srvv-nbu1-rep.process.dkm ) webservice failed, could not determine whether target is PDDE or PDDO (software caused connection abort) ) V-454-61 24 oct. 2022 13:37:00 - Error bpdm (pid=9604) <async> copy image failed: error 2060017: system call failed 24 oct. 2022 13:37:00 - Error bpdm (pid=9604) copy failed: error 174 24 oct. 2022 13:37:00 - Error bpdm (pid=9604) <async> cancel failed: error 2060001: one or more invalid arguments 24 oct. 2022 13:37:00 - Error bpdm (pid=9604) copy cancel failed: error 174 24 oct. 2022 13:37:01 - Info srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm (pid=9604) StorageServer=PureDisk:srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm; Report=PDDO Stats for (srv-nbumed01-ai.process.dkm): scanned: 4 KB, CR sent: 0 KB, CR sent over FC: 0 KB, dedup: 100.0%, cache disabled 24 oct. 2022 13:37:01 - Error nbreplicate (pid=22208) ReplicationJob::Replicate: Replication failed for backup id PC-AILOG12147_1666082526: media write error (84) 24 oct. 2022 13:37:01 - Replicate failed for backup id PC-AILOG12147_1666082526 with status 84 no images were successfully processed (191) I'm sure there will be information missing here, so don't hesitate to tell me which logs it would be interesting to share with you and how to export them please.
