Netbackup Accelerator Forced Rescan is running very slowly
Hi Netbackup Experts, I have configured Netbackup Accelerator for a windows file server. I have configured to run full backup with accelerator forced rescan once in a month. When it runs, the progress is very very slow. Is there any way to speed it up?2.1KViews0likes5CommentsAccelerator for a VMWare Backup Policy with AIR
Hello Experts, I am using NBU 7.7.3. I have a VMWare policy querying a cluster for an annotation to backup some clients. This policy has 4 schedules. Each Schedule has override policy storage selection checked with a corresponding AIR (Automated Image Replication) SLP's as the selection. The Storage selected in the SLP is an EMC DataDomain Storage unit (Using OST Plugin) setup as a Source for AIR. Attached some screenshots. With this setup, Should the 'Use Accelarator' Option be available for selection on the policy? Currently I see it grayed out.3.3KViews0likes9CommentsBest Practice for DFSR Backup of large data
Hi All, I'm trying to backup DFSR enabled folder whose size is around 1.2TB. With Shadow Copy Component the backup is taking almost around 20 hours to complete. Once I stop the replication service and takes a full backup, it takes 12 hours to complete. My acceptable backup windows is 14 hours and hence with SCC backup I'm not able to complete the backup on time. Also, does the SCC backup always behaves as a FULL backup? My incremental backup always backs up complete data and due to this I can't use this option for my incrementals also as it's exceeding the window. I would like to know any best practice available for DFSR backup with SCC. (Don't prefer to stop the dfsr service) Would accelerator do any good for this situation? My Environment: NetBackup Appliance 5230 acts as both Master & Media Server Appliance Version - 2.6.1.2 Master Server Netbackup Version - 7.6.1.2 Client Server - Windows 2012, NBU Version - 7.6.0.1Solved5KViews0likes6CommentsAccelerator for Netbackup
Hello I have been trying to find this answer but to no avail. The questions are: Should NBU policies that utilize the Accelerator option have the same retention for the Full and Incremental backups? What would be the detriment if not? Additionally how would running the backups to tape media affect the restorability of the server or file? Would I need to retreive the original tape containing the full backup w/ accelerator and multitudes of tapes leading up to current if we needed to go back say 3 months.Solved2.1KViews0likes4Comments
