Netbackup exluding many folders form backup
Hello Team, Thanks in advance for all your help. I have Netbackup server and from it we are taking file server backup. During restoring of files, we found many files and folders are not backuped up with Netbackup. After analyzing, I found issue with NTFS permission. I have one Security groups which dont have access to that folders which I have used for backup. Now thing is I have many file servers and I dont have any details on which folder this group dont have permission. So looking for detailed backup report from Netbackup where files are folder are not included in backup due to permission issues. Please help on this. Is there any way we can find out the actual amount of data that is being transferred through WAN (AIR) from Onestie site to Other site. I referred the replication.log on the storage server .but calculating each CR-sent is time taking and Opscenter SLP report is showing only the total size of the image not the actual transferredsize. For an example :Client A backup is 5TB &stored into de-dup disk pool and its 90% de-duplicated .this backup images are replicated to DR site long back ago which took more than a week to complete 5 TB transfer. For the same Client A -recent backup completed with 98 % de-dup,when i try to replicate the currentimage its completed in 2 hours ,that means only the changes since last replicated data was transferred over WAN or the entire 5 TB was transferred ?Solved1.2KViews0likes5CommentsAuto Image Replication with Remote NDMP
Hello everyone I have a couple of questions regarding a new setup we are looking at in our environment. I've went through tons of manuals, web browsing, etc but I figured I would come here to ask the experts. We are firing up a new offsite location and we are looking at having a offsite location for our NetApp filer backups. Right now we use Remote NDMP to backup the netapp filer to a IBM SAS array (PureDisk) that is directly attached to one of the media servers. The new line we are using to connect the remote sites is only like 75Mb/s. What would be your guys'best recommendation to do this on the cheap as much as possible? I have did research and saw you can either do Auto Image Replication or us the Enhanced Duplication method? Looks like the Auto Image replication would involve a master server at the remote location and the Enhanced Duplication Method would just be a media server at the remote location that checks into the master server at our main location? If this is correct on how it works, it sounds like Auto Image Replication would be the best way to go in case our master server goes down at the main location we would still be able to access the images on the other master server in the remote location. If this is all true, I have seen during my reading that you can only do MSDP (main location) -> MSDP/Puredisk (remote location). Is this correct? If so does this mean we have to switch our current environment at our main location to MSDP off of PureDisk? Will MSDP work with Remote NDMP? Any help or better understanding would be greatly appreciated Thanks! Joey551Views0likes1CommentDiskpool down, advanced disk using USB external disk

Hi, I'm currently doing some test fora project that the client is going touseNBU with data domain boost. We tried and sucess to backup data to DD boost through NBU, however, I can't establish the connection between NBU server and DD. Even the NBU server is visable to DD, NBU server wouldn't be able to mount the DD and see it on the device manager. Have search the NBU compatibilty matrix onhttp://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH59978but I couldn't found the compatility of NBU and DDOS. 1) Can someone share the experience of using DDBoost over FC with NBU? 2) We are suspecting this is the compatability issue betweenNBU and DDOS, would that be a case? We are currently testing on Win server 2008 R2 with NBU 7.6.1 and DDOS 5.5.0.1. Best, BrianSolved3.9KViews1like3CommentsBMR backup failed, Status 42

We have an NetBackup 7.5.0.6 environment running on an RHEL5 Master Server and two RHEL5 Media Servers. Each server has access to all 16 LTO4 tape drives connected via two different libraries. On a regular basis I can encounter duplication jobs which seem to be stuck. All resources have been granted and a proper tape has been mounted. The file list contains the first image which should be duplicated in this batch and NetBackup claims that it's waiting for positioning the media. This can take take hours until finally the duplication process starts and then proceeds at expected speed (350 GiB/h) with multiple images in the batch. I know that positioning is not an issue as the same media and drives are used for B2T jobs which never show such behavior. Did anybody encounter something like this? Any hint where to look and what to check? Thanks Markus2.5KViews1like12CommentsRecovery issue
Hi All, We have two media servers (mediasr1 & mediasr2) with the same ddboost storage unit configured.
