Archiving leavers email once they have left the company
Just looking if there is an way to do the following, automatically archive a users emailwhohave left the company I have set a leavers provisioning grp within EV pointing to an OU in AD. Is there any other things i need to setup and check or is that it Ive had a looked at this doc, but it relies on changing a script for each person who leaves and wish to archive, which i dont really want to do as i want it to be as automated as much as possible http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/275804.htmSolved355Views2likes2CommentsScheduling EV services to go into backup mode

I'm trying to create a inventory of the archives in our EV environment. I'm looking for a way to find out the size of the archive related to a Exchange(2003) mailbox. 1. Is the size of the archive ( sum of size of themails archived per mailbox) stored in any format in EV SQL server? 2. OR The only way to find out the total size of the mailbox(items) in the archiveis by finding the individual mailbox items and them getting a sum of their sizes? Please assist with any tips that are possible. >>>Please suggest the correct forum stream if this is out of scope here.<<< Thanks,Solved1.2KViews1like2CommentsUnable to load EV forms into Personal Form Library
Setup EV 9.0.1 Server and Client Outlook 2010 x64 Forms set to always. EV forms won't install when using EV client 9.0.1 with Outlook 2010 x64. In the Log I see "Unable to load EV forms into Personal Form Library" In Vault information I see "Could not open Org Library. Forms install fine when using Outlook 2010 x86 version on same computer with same profile. I can load them manually and they work, but this it not a option when we push to everyone. Hi, Breaking this question out from another thread. Having installed the new HTTP only client, I cansee an Enterprise Vault menu in Outlook 2010, with the new "Store" and "Restore" buttons. However, trying to archive produces the error "You cannot archive items from this location",. and restoring produces "You cannot restore items to this location. If you are trying to restore from a shortcut, copy and move it to your mailbox and then restore". (This info is erroneous). Double-clicking on a vaulted item, however, restores it. Rob has suggested that itsounds like I'mtrying to archive something inmy virtual vault folders. Unfortunately I'm not sure what's meant by virtual vault folders. Could you possible me how to produce a client log file as suggested? We are presently running version 9 and Exchange 2003. Kind regards Conners2.7KViews1like29CommentsMailbox enabling error
Hi there, we are having trouble with one particular user and getting there mailbox enabled. We have a provisioning group setup and the user is added to the groupin AD. This is not a new user and we noticed because his normal mailbox is rather large. The message we get is "An error occurred whilst enabling achiving fo the mailbox /O=#### /OU=#### cn=recepients /cn = FirstName.LastName Error: 0x8004010f " We also get this message when manually enabling the mailbox. if anyone has any suggestions or some troubleshooting steps that would be great. Hi Everyone, After reading the "setting up Exchange Server Archiving" doc, I've set up the EnableMailboxMessage.msg but when I enable a new user's mailbox, he doesnt receive the Welcome message? The instructions aren't very detailed. Am I missing anything? Error whilst enabling mailbox for user /o=XXXXX/ou=XXXXX/cn=Recipients/cn=XXXXXX, error sending enabled message. Possible Reason: The message file could not be found. I did check the forums first, but looks like there's only 1 person whohad thisissue back in 2006. https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/welcome-message-0 EV = 8.0 SP4 Exchange = 2007 SP2 Server = Win 2K8 Std SP2 Directory of C:\Program Files (x86)\Enterprise Vault 07/05/2010 05:15 PM 91,648 EnableMailboxMessage.msg To set up the Welcome message 1. Decide which language version of EnableMailboxMessage.msg you want to use and locate the file. 2. Using a computer that has Microsoft Outlook installed, double-click the file EnableMailboxMessage.msg in Windows Explorer to edit the message. 3. Review the text and make any changes that you require. If necessary, include instructions to users about how to install the Enterprise Vault Add-Ins on their computers. 4. Save the message. 5. Copy EnableMailboxMessage.msg to the Enterprise Vault program folder (normally C:\Program Files\Enterprise Vault) on every Enterprise Vault server in the site. Thanks for all your help. We need an EV Outlook add-in service pack or upgrade that works in Outlook 2010. Your Enterprise Vault 9 product , not due until the end of the year, is far to late for us to wait. I am rather shocked that a company such as Symantec would not have already issued updates that provide functionality with major player new software. THis is a major disappointment. We need a working Outlook 2010 client for Enterprise Vault now.Solved2.1KViews1like17CommentsPST Migrator task fails with EventID 6609 - Access is Denied
Hi EV Experts, Whilst most of our PSTs migrate to EV without a problem, I have a number of PST files that fail to migrateusing PST Migrator. Theyfail with EventID 6609 - Access is Denied. I have searched these forums and wider afield and have checked all the common solutions, i.e. PST and mailbox permissions, migrating via mapped drives, etc. All of thesuggestions from the forums appear to already have been met, but still the problem persists. We are running EV 2007 (v7.5) and Exchange 2003. Can anyone please suggest anyother way of resolving the 6609 Access is Denied problem? Thanks, Arwel.346Views1like1Comment
