Redirecting restore jobs for Lotus Domino databases
Dear Symantec, Our company has made the decision on transition on SBE2010 of a competing product. However there was one problem – in the course of work there is a necessity often enough to use restore Lotus bases point in time in different location. But SBE doesn't possess similar possibility. Absence given functional disturbs to full introduction SBE in the organization. Introduction of similar functional (present at competitors) will allow introduce completely SBE in the organization not only for us, but also Symantec will be allowed to get competitive advantage in the market.1.3KViews8likes8CommentsBackup Lotus Domino Notes Server failed

I am running BE 2014, 14.1 Rev 1786 - 64Bit. I have a Windows Server 2008R2, running Lotus Notes 8.5. Today I went to restore a mail file (.nsf) and found that it, along with most of my other mail files were not backed up on the tape I was using. I'm not sure how long this goes back as I'm still investigating this. When looking at the selection list, the entire /Data/Mail directory is selected under the Lotus Domino option in the selection list, but when you browse into it, only recently created NSF files are listed. I was able to resolve the issue by following TECH165059 but this apparently does not resolve this issue from occuring again. This is a massive issue - how can I ever trust Symantec to backup all of my Domino databases without manually checking to ensure each one is present on the tape (this is not an acceptable solution)? To make this even more of a concern... Symantec has known of this issue at least as far back as version 2012, if not more. I'm running 2014 so the issue was known but not resolved during a major update. To reiterate, Backup Exec has 1 job, and it failed at that 1 job but conitnued to claim that it was actually doing that 1 job. What can I put into place so that I can trust the system? Is this resolved in BE15? Thanks1.6KViews2likes7CommentsOfficial IBM Domino 9.x support - When?
When will Domino 9 be officially supported by the Backup Exec Domino Agent? version 9 has been out six months and 9.01 has just been released. The file structures have not changed in Notes 9 over Notes 8.5.x, so in reality the agents should just work... Please advise Thank youSolved798Views2likes2CommentsBacking up Lotus Domino without a Domino agent
Hello, I'm interested in backing up Lotus Domino server databeses using Backup Exec 2010 R2. Since there is no initiative on buying Lotus Domino Backup Agent (~ $1160) I'm interested in backing up Domino databases (.NSF) with usual Remote Agent for Windows Servers (RAWS). Do I still need to purchase Lotus Domino Agent or is it enough to use normal BE Windows Remote Agent and Advanced Open File Option (AOFO) to backup those Notes databases? Thanks in advance...Solved2.1KViews2likes12CommentsDomino Agent 9.0.1 FP4
I am trying to backup my Domino 9.0.1 FP4 environment with Backup Exec 15 and am encountering the following error when running the backup to disk - Backup- Domino Databases on D:An inconsistency was encountered on the storage media in SPMTRPBK001-ND-A. V-79-57344-33994 - The data being read from the media is inconsistent. It has completed successfully on rare occasion and incrementals seem to go fine. Since Domino 9.0.1 FP4 is not on SCL Symantec has refused to help. I am not certain however that this is even and a Domino specific issue. If I do not run a verify I see the full backup set, and then am able to restore from it for the databases I have attempted. This is very frustrating - how can Backup Exec not support a critical security fix for Domino that has been out for over a year and a half? Anyone able to successfully backup Domino 9.0.1HF 4 running Windows 2012 R2 x64?Solved1.7KViews1like5CommentsBackup Exec 2014 splitting Domino jobs
Is it possible to split our Domino backup jobs into smaller sets? For instance, can we backup mail\A-M in one job, and mail\N-Z in a second job. Creating the selections is doable......but if the Domino server is using DAOS and transaction logging, how does BackupExec handle that? The .nlo files and transaction logs are shared between all databases on the Domino server. Thanks in advance, Nick605Views1like4CommentsBackup Exec 2012 SP3 Lotus Domino Agent Backup/Restore Problem

Hello , Up until a week ago we had a working backup with BE2010 and a Domino notes database (mainly mail databases) ALL on the same server , this setup have been running for about 3 years now. The backup jobs still runs and happily reports a successfull backup , but looking closer reveals hardly any of the .nsf files have been backed? When trying to setup a new job for testing purposes it can only enumerate a fraction of the databasefiles in the folder. This makes me suscpect that BE cannot verify the majority of the databases and therefore skips them. This is why it says it has backed them up sucssefully , BE does not see or consider the ones it does not finds/verifys At this point the only thing we have tried is to restart the BE services , have not looked at all on domino server or the domino services. The whole server was restarted 3 days before this started and had 3 complete backups after that event. Any ideas ? BE or Domino issue :) (Also , know this is a bad setup , we now have a new Exchange server running and ready to migrate the mail , also new BE licenses incoming for a new backup solution ) BR /bbrjes767Solved877Views1like7Comments
