Netbackup error 130 and 4207 by backup Exchange 2013
Hello There. We have created a new Exchange 2013 farm and now we want to backup this. The Exchange 2010 backup runs without any problems and i copied the Netbackup policy and changed the entries. Hi All, I'm facing a strange issue with exchange backups. The backup complete successfully with status code 0 however the exchange admin reports that the last backup time stamp within exchange does not update. No Backup... We have upgraded the Netbackup version to 7.1.0.3 (Servers and Agents). We do not have license for 7.5. Granular backups used to work just fine. Now for the last few months it appears that they are not working correctly anymore. The detailed status on the backup jobs show the following warning: "Warning bpbrm (pid=5296) from client DAG01: WRN - unable to setup NBFSD credentials, disabling granular backups". The job completes, but with a status of '1' and obviously granular restores are not available when trying to restore using that backup job. I have searched and searched and the only things I am finding on the internet relate to setting up NFS. I have verified that NFS is setup correctly. So this is not the issue. We can backup the active copies of a Exchange 2010 DAG, but the backup from the passive copies quickly fails with status 2. For now we are backing up the active copies, but we are very interested in backing up only the passive copies. According to the Exchange Management Console, every DDBB has two copies and all the active ones are in the same Mailbox Server. That server also holds a Public Folder. In the Database Management screen, the "Servers" field shows both mailbox servers, the "Mounted on Server" field shows only the mailbox server used for active copies. This is valid for all databases, except for the Public Folder. If I use "Active only" or "Passive copy and if not available the active copy" the results are the same, the backup is done through the active copy. Using "Passive copy only" ends in failure, even if using a Preferred Server list. We tried turning all the passive copies into active copies: the problem persists while backups from the "new" active copies work fine. In the Client Selection, we use the name of the DAG, not the hostname of the Windows servers. Backup Selection is "Microsoft Exchange Database Availability Groups:\". There is a CAS server, but we are not backing it up, we only installed the NetBackup client on the Mailbox Servers. We are not using GRT. NetBackup Client Service is started as Local System. We used some accounts with equivalent permissions as the ones listed in the NB documentation, but the results did not vary. We haven't tried using the domain Administrator account yet. Circular logging is configured in most of the databases. NetBackup Master and Media have RedHat with NB 7.1.0.3. However, it is getting slower. Rebooting the Exchange clients help for a day or two. The backup job does not start until the snapshot completes, but this is taking hours when it should be minutes. or at least only occasionally, with no way that's apparent to me to replicate for testing purposes. Occasionally they do or have truncated, but I can't find any rhyme or reason. We are just moving our 2007 environment to 2010, so we only have a handful of mailboxes in the 2010 environment. Which is why I'm trying to get all this problem resolved so that we can begin moving people over to 2010. Right now for example, 1 of the databases has logs going back to the 2/13 at 9:01AM, even though I've run a successfull full backup many times. Our configuration is as follows: We are NOT using Instant Recovery or GRT. Backups are successful with status of 0 (I'm doing "Full" backups for the purpose of testing log truncation) I've tried backing up both the Active and Passive nodes, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. In Exchange, Copy length and Queue length are 0 I read stuff about a bug w/ the Indexing Service on Exchange: I stopped the Indexing Service on all of the DAG nodes. No change. We have a MAPI network and Replication network b/t the nodes. I turned off the Firewall on the Replication Network. No change. I've tried dismounting and remounting the database. And I ran ESEUTIL /MH and confirmed that it was clean. Hi, I have a exchange and OS backups setup on a client and when I try to run a backup verification on the client side using the bpclimagelist. I am ony getting the NT backups and not the exchange backups. Does anyone know what I need to do to get the exchange backup to show up? Maybe I have something setup wrong on the client side or what am i doing wrong. I have tired this on a few of our customer environment with the same results. Hello, I'm trying to setup netback to backup exchange archive database. All other backup:sql, vmware and dag services are ok. But we have dedicated exchange server with 2 archive databses and backup of it failed with error: An existing snapshot is no longer valid and cannot be mounted for subsequent operations(1542). I already try bpfis query and it empty: INF - BACKUP START 6204 INF - FIS IDs: INF - EXIT STATUS 0: the requested operation was successfully completed vssadmin list writers before backup attempt is normal, after backup of corse it with waiting state. Writer name: 'Microsoft Exchange Writer' Writer Id: {76fe1ac4-15f7-4bcd-987e-8e1acb462fb7} Writer Instance Id: {d3f31f8b-893e-4fa2-9814-200192298952} State: [5] Waiting for completion Last error: No error I already try to reregister vss and reinstall netbackup agent. many times reboot server, but no effect.
