Hi folks We have run into a problem which is starting to cause headaches... EV does not appear to be vaulting mailboxes. Users are logging calls saying they cannot send mail as their mailbox is full. Manually vaulting is no more successful. You select a message, hit store in vault, the message sits in the pending state for a few minutes then returns to the normal unvaulted condition. We have made two configuration changes recently: Changed setting for safe copies to delete immediatley after archiving (as we thought this may be a resolution for mail stuck in pending state) and enabled SIS sharing through entire group. Has anyone seen this before?Solved1.4KViews0likes10CommentsSEV 8 Collection and empty folders
We have collections enabled on our journaling stores. the information is collected and stored in cab files correctlybut the original folders structure stay intact. These folders are empty and don’t seem to be used. We use netbackup for backup. Netbackup spends hours just crawling these empty folders. Is there an easy way of getting rid of these folders? Can I just delete them?Solved1.1KViews0likes4CommentsEV 9 - Exchange 2003, Failed to Open Distribution List

Hello all, We are currently running an old EV 7 setup with Exchange. I recently setup EV 9 on new hardware, as the hardware that 7 is running on is old and almost end of life, so I did not want to upgrade. I have the new 9.0 setup archiving a few test e-mail accounts as well as my own account. Everything is working fine except for the Outlook 2010 HTTP-Only Add-in. It seems that the add-in is pointing to EV 7 server. After I install the Outlook add-in, when I first run Outlook, I get the error message "This Version of the Enterprise Vault Outlook Add-in is not compatible with the Enterprise Vault server version." Then when I try to pull something from the archive, I get "Your account does not have access to the vault containing this item. Try using the same logon details you would use to log on to Microsoft Exchange Server. Do you want to log on to Enterprise Vault under another account?" If I click 'YES', the provide username/password logon box pops up, and I notice that it is trying to log me on to our old Enterprise Vault setup, version 7. I am assuming this is because I used to have the version 7 Outlook add-in installed. However, I uninstalled this prior to installing the new Outlook 2010 add-in for version 9. There must still be some data or registry information leftover that is telling the add-in to try to connect to the old server. Has anyone run across this problem? Thank you for any help in advance!Solved1.9KViews0likes11CommentsEV 8 Issues with MS Patches 10-036 and 10-087
A collegue found an issue with EV icons disappearing from a user's Outlook. With versions SP3, 4 and 5 of EV 8 and using Outlook 2003 SP3, he found a situation where the client would not display the store in vault or restore from vault icons on the toolbar. When attempting to select the buttons from the toolbar menu, they showed checked off but greyed out. Upon removal of the two Microsoft patches MS10-036 (KB 983235)and MS10-087 (KB 242930), the buttons reappeared. I was curious if anyone has also experienced this issue. It seems this is also causing stability issues with Outlook and caused the client to crash. This in turn corrupts the user's OST file. Hi Before I looked after EV the installer setup retention periods of everything retained forever. This policy applied to both archives and the journal. Now some three years on the business is discussing changing this. We have been asked to reduce the journal to 12 months. That's OK because i have created a new Journal policy of 12 months. The problem is the old Journal entries. I can't modify the old retention policy because it applies to both the Journal and Archives. No one has yet decided on the retention period for the archives but it will be different from the Journal. So I want to delete ALL Journal entries before 1st January 2009. I cannot change the retention policy at this time. Is there a way to do this or a way to retrospectively alter the retention policy for that data. Current EV version 9.0. Looking forward to some suggestions.1.7KViews0likes20Comments
