Hi all, I need help to good understand attribute ForceImport. There is a table "Failure situations" in Symantec Storage Foundatio and High Availability Solutions Solutions Guide. (221p.) I don't understant situation number 7 Split-brain situation andstorage interconnect lost. ForceImport set to 0 - No interruption of service.Can’t import with only 50% of disks available. Disks on the same node are functioning. Mirroring is not working. ForceImport set to 1 - Automatically imports disks on secondary site. Now disks are online in both locations—data can be kept from only one. Who can unswer this question: "Now disks are online in both locations—data can be kept from only one" What is the purpes? What we will get if first 50% of disks will imported on 1 site and second 50% will imported on 2 site?

Can SCSI3 reservation keys (IO fencing) cause storage replication to stop working?
Hi, Assume I have a Windows SFHA cluster at Site A, with IO fencing enabled (EMC VMAX storage), with storage replication to remote site. Hosts at Site A encounter issue, and there is a DR failover to remote site (app running at DR site now), If there are fencing keys left behind on the data disks at Site A (server panic etc, keys remained), possible that could prevent storage replication to occur (From remote site back to Site A)? regards, Sam

Windows generic service faults on its own
Hi, Ia have a two node failover cluster SFHA 6.1 running over Windows 2012R2. I want to monitorize a generic windows service. The problem is that after a time the Generic service is faulted and switched to the node 2. The resource brings online in node 2 and after few time it faults again. The logs show the following: Agent is calling clean for resource because the resource became offilne unexpectly on its own... Thanks

How to configure NBU service group in GCO with VVR
Discussion split off from https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/gco-configuration-between-2-nodes-cluster-and-1node-cluster: I have configured - site 2 with 1 node cluster - I have install the SFWHA6.1 software and created dynamic disk group, volume and configured cluster with vip address, service group for wac and I tried to install Netbackup software in 1 node cluster, it is asking vip, I gave new vip address and it asked for path for shared disk. I mention manually as F: drive and clicked cluster configuration, it was not successful. but service group and resources are created with offline, error - cluster configuration is unsuccessful, some of the resources are not come online Please guide to fix it.

Veritas Enterprise administrator 6.0 - could not connect
Hi All, I have new deploy for VXSF with HA for windows ,I run the wizard to install server componemts, everything running fine and wizard finished sucessfully, after reboot I opened Veritas Enterprise administrator and tried to connect the localhost. I typed username and password but it disconnected and give following message: ""System Extension Error:The system in not responding as expected, Disconnecting from host.'" So how I can solve this issue? thnaks in advance

I Need to check if SF 5.1 will support multipathing or I need different MPIO software
. I need to upgrade from SF 4.3 to SF 5.1. In the previous setup there was no need for MPIO software. No the customer is change for SAN setup with 2 HBA, I am using NetApp storage. I Need to check if SF 5.1 will support multipathing or I need different MPIO software like NetApp MPIO. If yes what is the license needed. Thanks, Amin Abu-Dosh

Storage Foundation 5.1 and MSCS not working
Hi. We want to use Storage Foundation 5.1 to manage our dual path disk. We are clustering MS BizTalk 2006 so we need to use MSCS to Cluster BizTalk. Problem is that MSCS cannot see the disk group created in SF. We are using Windows 2003 Enterprise Server R2 We installed SF first and the disk groups appear fine. Then we tried to configure MSCS and it could not see the disk. During some investigation we discovered we needed the MSCS Option, so we added our "VRTS STORAGE FOUNDATION OPTION MICROSOFT CLUSTER 5.1 WIN FOR OS TIER ENTERPRISE EDITION STD LIC" license key and it indicated that the MSCS option is available. However, when we go back to Add/Remove programs to select this option, it does not appear as a choice in the add/remove SF options. How should we proceed? Is there a seperate plug in we need to download or should it appear in the list of options in the SF installation screen? Do we need to have MSCS configured before we install SF so it can detect it? Any advice would be appreciated. Warren
