Does Veritas has NetBackup client for Sybase IQ 16.1 sp4 on AIX 7.2? Checked compatibility list - not found Sybase IQ :( After replication backup to target backup domain does NetBackup have ability to automatically (after replication ends or by schedule) restore db backup?
Passing Netbackup 8.0 Exam
Hello everyone, I am studying Veritas Netbackup 8.0 and intend to pass the exam next week. The thing is, beside Veritas official training I don't have much experience administering Netbackup. I would love to know if I can answer the exam questions based on the training materials. Another question, can I pass VCS-277 instead of VCS-276 knowing that I have no training nor experience with the Appliance. Hi ! yesterday I used the nbreplicate for replicate about 33 images from NB Domain A to NB domain B. (MSDP) The replication was a success and the import was OK also on the Master of domain B. Next, I go in "Backup, Archive and Restore" of the Master of domain B to see all images I replicated. About 3/4 of images are there and the 1/4 was not . If I check in the catalog, ALL images are there.... Someone know why this happend ? Thanks !

Hi, we are with Netbackup 8.1.1 We have 2 classes for our AIX servers, one for the OS (SYSUX) and the other for the rest of FS (PRDUX). Currently we have includes files with more than 1000 lines for PRDUX and this is causing a problem (Old NB administrator) He wanted to make sure not to forget FS for all the clients of the PRDUX class. We would like to improve this by using the excludes files. I would like your comments on how we could do this as simply as possible. We must continue to use these 2 classes. Here's what we thought of: The includes file for the SYSUX policies would contain "/", "/ usr", "/ var", "/ opt", in short, the FS which are specific to the OS. For the includes of the PRDUX class, we will put only "/" and having an exclude_list.PRDUX on the clients containing the FSs listed of the SYSUX class and checking the "Cross mount point" option. This does not work because of the "/" found in the exclude_list.PRDUX. If I remove it, it works except that I backup the data from "/" which is already taken in the SYSUX class. Do you have any ideas for me? Thank you for your help. I don't know if my explanation is understandable, I tried my best for the English translation
Backed file not showing in restore window/KMS passphrase issue
Base of my issue is for certain period(2017 to Jan 2018) not able to browse the backed files for the selected dates to perform the restore. When checked,for that certain period(2017 to Jan 2018)client files & .f files are missing in /openv/netbackup/db/images/ directory. So planned to perform the media import but there we had KMS issue i.e for that certain period((2017 to Jan 2018) the passpharse for the keytag used was different and also we lost it if we want to recover and activate the key group & tag. My queries here is If I deploy new master server by restoring the catalog which was taken before Jan 2018. Will I able to do the restore for those periods? What if I restore the client files & .f to the directory /openv/netbackup/db/images/ from my previous(i.e before Jan 2018) catalog backup to current NB master server. As its being same master server which had the record of previous KMS database, will it can be able to restore the data without any issue ? I have the backup of KMS_DATA.dat, KMS_HMKF.dat,KMS_KPKF.dat which was taken before Jan 2018 if I place this file in the respective directory of my current NB master server, will it work and can able to do the restore ?
