Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 addin for Outlook 2013 on an Office365 ProPlus Subsciption
Hi I'm still havgin problems installing the Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 addin for Outlook 2013 on an Office365 ProPlus Subsciption on a machine running Windows 8.1. I've ran through the following article numerous times, with no luck at all. https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH214359.html Has anyone else had a similar problem and found a way around it? As with previous (solved) issues, it appears as an add-in in Outlook, but as 'inactive'. Cheers1.8KViews2likes7CommentsWebcast on Wed Mar 25, 10 AM PDT: Enterprise Vault / Office 365 Deep Dive
In our Office 365 webcast last fall, we shared several reasons why Office 365 alone is not enough to meet the archiving and discovery needs of most organizations. This follow-up webcast will provide additional details, including demos, head-to-head performance comparisons and ROI projections. These details will illustrate how Enterprise Vault goes beyond Office 365 by providing superior information governance, ensuring regulatory compliance and avoiding vendor lock-in—all while delivering a superior ROI for organizations in any industry. Hello Tech Gurus, Is EVPM just to apply policies on one single user? is there anyway I can apply a policy to OU or security group with EVPM. For instance, below mentioned script : [Directory] DirectoryComputername = EVserver SiteName = EVsite [Mailbox] DistinguishedName = /o=XXXX/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=GautamEV Test058 [Folder] Name = Mailboxroot Enabled = True OverrideArchiveLocks = True [Folder] Name = SentItems Filtername = DoNotArchive OverrideArchiveLocks = True Note it is not taking DistinguishedName = All, it give an error Paramter incorrect. Appreciate your kind assistance and guidance. Regards, GautamSolved530Views1like2CommentsLink for archived SharePoint 2013 doc does not work
Hello, I have set up SharePoint 2013 Archiving in my test lab, initially with a rule that checks for the column "Archive" being set to yes for certain documents. On the next archive run, documents that match the rule are archived, so its like manual archiving. The issue is that although the documents do get archived, and a 1K shortcut replaces the document, the link does nor work. I can use the Archive Search web part to find the doc in EV, and I can access it, and I can access it via Version History, but not from the shortcut. There are no errors in the event logs. Does anyone have any ideas ? regards Jim464Views1like5CommentsEV - Exchange Task Target Missing Databases
Hi, I have an environment with 2 Exchange 2010 Mailbox servers, in a DAG. There are some 6 databases in the DAG and a few standalone ones. For some reason the Exchange Mailbox Task, for both mailbox servers, is only showing 1 database. One of these databases doesn't even exist anymore. From looking around I believe this list should be updated by the Exchange Provisioning Task. This task seems to run fine and if I run the report (full or brief) I can see no errors. Although I can see no information regarding the databases either, only regarding the users it's processed. I've tried re-creating the Provisioning Task as well as the Exchange Mailbox tasks but every time the target list is the same. Am I missing something or does something not look right? This installation of EV is not in production yet. Enterprise Vault Version: 11.0.0.1351, Server 2008 R2, Exchange 2010 Thanks for any help.Solved3.2KViews1like8CommentsEV11 Sizing Estimator Tools for FSA Import XML files
Greeting, I have a problem regarding EV11 Sizing Estimator Tools that after I scanned and generated an XML file for my file server, I found that there is no way to import the XML file onto the Sizing Estimator Tools FSA sheets. Is there no such feature for FSA but only for Exchange/PST/Journaling? Since the excel workbook is quite complicate and I believe the result is quite inaccurate with manual input the data. Hope can hear some solution or sharing from here soon.Solved875Views1like2CommentsExchange 2010 DAG (2 nodes) where to put Journaling DB's?
Hello, There seems to be a lot of confusion about DAG and Symantec EV. I think the whitepaper "Technical Whitepaper - Enterprise Vault 9 Archiving from Exchange 2010.pdf" from Dan Strydom does solve some questions but not all. As a point the "Jounraldatabase1" on page 8 is hosted on MailboxServer1 has a copy on the DR MAilboxserver3 but there is not copy on Mailboxserver2. Lets start with a sample that most middle site customer have and is also mentioned in the paper above on page 8. 2 x CAS 2 x Hardware Load Balancers 2 x MBX Server with DAG MDB1 (Active on Server 1) MDB2 (Active on Server 2) Lets also asume they have a Backup Solution which handles the DAG and sees the DAG (Netvault and Netapp SME). 1) Microsoft says a Database which resides on a DAG Server should be DAG activated. (That would not be in sample with JOURNALDATABASE1). Either its DAG or non DAG but nothin between. But then you would have the IOPS + the Log traffic between the DAG additional. 2) Microsoft says that Journaling will give 15-20% more IOPS with Journaling and to keep it in seperate DB Some things we still don't understand or how we understand it before we asked here: a) Best would be the Journaling DB to be in the regular DAG database. However you would have the 15-20% IOPS increase.? b) Better would be per Server a seperate standalone DB for the Journaling. This will not failover. This will give EVENTS and error because the DB is NOT DAG activated and resides on a DAG Server. > Backup products may hang at a selection point for backup or restore because the can't handle the special DB (Let's just asume) c) If we make a seperate standadlone Journaling Server to get rid of 1) IOPS 2) Problems with Events 3) Asumed problems with Backup components THEN we have the Problem that single Journaling Server is NOT Redundant. How do you solve this in practice and whats the best way Symantec would recommend? If you look at the Forums many customers seems to have problems with that. We just want to understand why and best practice. Thank you for any help and your time. Any comment welcome. Hi, We have installed and Configured Enterprise Vault 10.0.4 on Windows 2012 R2. EV is configured to archive the files from the file server (EMC Celerra). We are successfully able to archive and the placeholders are getting created but we get different errors while accessing different file type, the screen shot is added as an attachment. We are able to baccess the Internet shortcuts and the files from Archive Explorer. We are also able to recall the actual files from FSA utility. We keep receiving the following error in the celerra logs: 2014-10-21 12:18:11: DHSM: 3:[bnpns120] Could not get HTTP response from HTTP server; status code - 1002 Authentication scheme not supported 2014-10-21 12:18:11: MGFS: 3:[bnpns120] error direct read block 0 of entry 122, status 28 - InternalError No Error messages are logged on the EV server's Event Viewer.
