Backup and Restore from CW 7.1.2 to 7.1.3
We have a Clearwell system on version 7.1.3 that is clean with no cases. We have a system that is on version 7.1.2 that has all our cases on. I'm looking to restore the cases from the v7.1.2 machine to the v7.1.3 machine. Looking for documentation/how-to's/knowledge articles, etc. on the backup and restore process for this If you need more info, please let me know. Thanks.684Views0likes1CommentClearwell Backup Best Practices
I know its probably taboo to post a quetsion like this and ask for information so many people arent willing to share (why I dont know), but I dont see why it hurst to ask. I am curious about best practices others are adhering to in backing up their cases/servers. Because of the current CW architecture, backups in my opinion are troublesome. Aside from random failures (i posted another topic about this) I have always found the process that is needed to fully backup and prepare for BR/DR to be very cumbersome with Clearwell. Do you agree? Hopefully v8 and the support of Virtualization will help this. But does anyone care to share how many days of backups they are keeping? Are you still doing node backups? And if so, why? Do you provide clients with specific terms&conditions about nightly backup windows, not allowing case/system access during certain times, and if not, how are youensuring you get nightly backups and dont miss them because of clients accessing cases? How do you workaround/decide/manage taking backups vs processing or OCR'ing data overnight? You see where I am going with all this. There are more questionsthan this that I havebeen grappling with Clearwell for years. These are topics I find to be in constant flux, requiring constant revision, because there just doesnt seem to be a very efficient way of protecting/backing up the CW environment. Dont you agree? I thank you in advance for anyone willing to share, as I would be willing to do so in return. I am happy to conduct individual discussions privately if anyone is interested. If my contact info is not available in this profile, please respond here and we can coordinate a better way of communicating.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsCase Backup Failures
I often, randomly, get 1 or 2 (sometimes 5 or more, very random) cases that fail nightly backups. The error in the job log reads: Caused by: com.teneo.esa.cluster.resource.LeaseAcquisitionException: [#164017] Can't backup case while managed file access is in progress. Please try again later. This is not possible. In fact, never has it been true. Some of these cases are online and havent been accessed for days/weeks, and so there cannot be any file access in progress. I have explored this from time to time with Tech Support. But the answer is often that if I can manually run a backup, and it completes successfully, then there really isnt anything wrong. Except that my backups are failing, and this causes issues with my workflow for maintaining backups for DR purposes. So I wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone else gets these random failures, even though the cases back up just fine when you do them manually. It happens on a couple (often different) cases for a day or two or more, then wont happen for days or weeks, and then it happens again, and then doesnt, etc...there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. My backups are pointed to adirect attached storageshelf (DELL MD1200).570Views1like1CommentUnable to restore a Case in Clearwell after moving archived data
I recently helped a customer change their backup location. We copied over a archived case folder from the old backup location to the new. Now when we try to restore the case, it fails. The error message in the logs state: 05/28/2014 10:15:30 Case restore failure: 0.2.1.0/0.6.1321.1198292989/ISR2/ISR2 com.teneo.esa.esacase.CaseManagerException: [#80116] An unexpected error occurred: [#156046] Unable to open data directory \\nscorp1\archive\CW_Case_Backup\cases\0.6.1321.1198292989-ISR2\ISR2\cluster\_lds_case_appliance_aru4sltoa3\data I noticed there is no data folder in the location but there is one in another subfolder. Just copying that directory doesn't work. Any thoughts on how we can get the case to restore? Thank you.996Views2likes2CommentsHow can I reuse expired Media?
