Backup Exec 20.3 Ala Carte License Update to Simple Licensing Backup Exec
Hello Experts, First of all, I am going to give you brief information related to my scenario. I have Backup Exec 20.3 on windows supporting 5 windows server with Ala Carte License. I want to buy Simple License Core Pack to change my Existing "Ala Carte license". My problem is, The current Backup Exec Server version is only 20.3 and the Backup Exec Simple License is featured on Backup Exec 22.2 My Plan is to Install new Backup Exec Server with Version 22.2 and activate the Simple License Core Pack then restore the Catalog of the old Backup Exec . Slow File Transfer Speeds in Veritas Backup Exec Job Rate
Hello everyone, I’ve been experiencing a noticeable slowdown in the job rate when using Veritas Backup Exec version 24 to back up data to disk. Initially, the backup job starts with a good transfer speed, but over time, it gradually slows down to around 10 MB/s. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or does anyone have suggestions on what could be causing this? I’ve checked the basics like disk space, network performance, and hardware, but I’m not sure why the speed deteriorates so much as the job progresses. Any insights or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
How should I be backing up BE 20.6 ?
My 20.6 Backup Exec server is a Windows VM (2016) in a clustered Hyper-V (2016) installation, it runs a local SQL server and happily backs up all of the VMs in the HV environment and a number of other local phsycial Windows servers. What type of backup should I be doing of the Backup Exec server itself, as I understand that it can back itself up, I want to ensure that we have a safe restore point of the server, should I ever need it, so that its recoverable in the event of a disaster/failure? I have read a number of posts on the matter but most are more than several years old so I wondered if there any more recent best practice guidance... Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Not able to restore in BE 20.3 due to query failed
While we are trying to restore one file which was remotely backed up from tape. After doing catalog, we are not able to see the contents of the tape as whenever we are clicking on restore it is showing query failed and not drive names are popping up. Hi, I am running Backup Exec 20.1 on Server 2016 STD connected to an IBM LTO-7 Fibre Channel Ultrium Tape Library & Tape Drive. The same Server (that does the backups) runs Hyper-V and has a very large VM of about 3 Terabyte. It takes a good 14 hours to backup this VM (doing a granular backup). I would like to know if Backup Exec 20.1 supports differential backups of Hyper-V Virtual Server our would I have to backup the entire VM every day in order to have a usable full backup to recover from in case of data loss on the VM. I can supply more info. on the Backup Exec or Hyper-V setup if required. Thank you, Reinhard.
