DA search terms and symbols
I'm looking at a particular search where they are looking for near hits and, amongst the search terms, excluding to or from certain targets. eg. restructur match within 10 characters as well as not to or from T:Joe McSweeney. Discovery Accelerator search results inaccurate
We continue to experience inaccurate results which consist of items for a non-selected userthat does not meet the criteria in the search. We have tested with twodifferent searches that producevery differentresults. We use the following search criteria fora search that givesus not only the specific users hits for the day, but another user is included in the hits which appears to only meet the date criteria and not theto or from criteria selected.This is created using a specific date range which is Oct. 3rd - October 3rd. Search terms to or from and we select a singleuser name by clicking on the target and custodian icon on the right. Miscellaneous - Message type is set to all content sources. On the other hand, when we run the same search by typing the name in the to and from field, "first last" then we do not get the additional user listed in the hit however, we do not get the Instant Messages either. creating different searches in one case and exporting seperate pst's
Hi , i had a criteria where i have to seach for different users based on some criteria under one case and needed to get the pst's seperatley for each case. what i did is created 6 new searches in a single case and accepted all the seaches \then exported which turned out single pst file . do i have to accept each seach speperately and export ? if i needed in single case ? We have DA set up on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box which is seperate from our Vault server and accessed via the console on a windows XP box. I set up the search for a single user's archive with the criteria being that it is from him within the week required. I saved it as an immediate search but it comes up with a status of queued. There is another search going on at the moment but would this be why it is currently queued? The end goal is simply to export all outgoing mail from this user with in this one week period of time; is there an easier way to do this? Help! I know this should not be hard, but things never work out when you are in a time crunch do they? All I need to do is get all the emails that are To or From one account when they are either To or From another account (basically all emails between 2 accounts.) We are on version 9.0 I can easily get all emails to or from both addresses, but limiting it down to just the ones where they were to or from eachother is very difficult. I have found nothing in the documentation like this, if it's there, please point me in the right direction. All help is appreciated in advance,Solved1.2KViews0likes9Comments
Does anyone have a list of non-indexed attachments?
We are building a document that shows what type of attachments are not indexed by Enterprise Vault and are therefore not searched when using Discovery Accelerator. We use DA when we are subpoened for efiles and may need to show a court which types of files may not be produced when searched. The only document I've seen from Symantec uses generic terms like it cannot search within encrypted emails or audio files...we're looking for something a bit more specific...such as PDF or image files, etc. Obivously we can't account for every type of file but if we can get a good list of common files that would be helpful. Enterprise Discovery Accelerator 9 exports stuck at "processing"
I am using DA 9 on a Windows 2008R2 server, through a back-end Vault 9 server on Windows 2003 (back-end db is SQL2008R2). DA9 is letting me create cases, make and complete searches, and configure and run export jobs. However, the export jobs are getting stuck in a "processing..." status. Things seemed to be going ok, but then suddenly the export jobs stopped dumping data. The DA client reports no errors, and there are no errors in the event logs on the servers that I can see, and no problems with the SQL side. I noticed the DA server was busy (CPU and RAM-wise) when the exports first started running, now after more than 24 hours I've noticed DA exports aren't dumping anything and CPU and RAM activity is non-existent. Seems like the DA server is sitting there pretending todo something, but is silently failing somewhere. I've tried checking all appropriate settings, DA best practices, even dropped the number of export threads to 15 (following bp documentation that suggests 25 might be too high for all environments). We typically do not add and remove users from the User/Groups under the application tab in DA client. But today, I took a look and found a user that should not be in there whatsoever. Now we are trying to track down how he got in there. Who put him there? When was he put there? Has he done any searches? Whatpermissionsdo you need to even get into the client and add a user. Though he currently does not have a role assigned to him, I don't know that this has always been the case. Basically need to know if there is any tracking going on so we can see how this has come to be. A quick-fire question: Each time I run a report for the first time from within the EV DA Client (10.0.4), I am requested to enter the credentials to connect to the SQL Reporting Server. I enter the same credentails as the user I am logged on as and away we go !! I am OK running any other reports within the same session, but once I end the DA session and reconnect I need to enter the credentials again. Also, every time I select to export data to PDF/Excel I am asked for credentials. Is there some way I can set this up so it doesn't ask me for credentails the first time I run a report in each session ? Thanks, AJSolved879Views1like7Comments
Can you print more than 10 items at a time within Discovery Accelerator Client 8.0.2?
I know this sounds crazy, but we have a requirement to print many items while in review from the Discovery Accelerator Client 8.0.2. We seem to have a limit of 10 at a time. Does anyone know if this is a hard limit or is there a way to do more than 10? Thanks, MoJoeSolved859Views0likes1Comment
