how to create Dedupe Storage Locations using DLO
Hello, we installed the DLO administrator and dedup server on same Machine as mentioned in below link , page no.24 , option no.2. http://kbdownload.symantec.com/resources/sites/BUSINESS/content/live/DOCUMENTATION/6000/DOC6413/en_US/DLOAdminGuide_EN.pdf?__gda__=1404364409_85ff45cfe8c9e0a12e942d3422786b6d 1) We create a profile with dedup enable 2) click dedup server --> manage --> create a storage pool . 3) now trying to create a dedup storage location , I am trying to give path but it is failed to taken. How to give the path when we CREATE file system on secondary storage with CIFS share ??? I am also trying to give local path but it is also failed.

SDLO 8 Desktop angent problem on Windows XP
Hello, I have problem with SDLO 8 Desktop agent installed on windows xp pro SP3. I remotely installed desktop angent with successfull installation on windows xp. When common user, without administration rights, is log on, during backup whole pc freeze and restart. After restart whole situation is repeating. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

Dedupe engine offline
Buen día, He instalado la consola de DLO 8.0, una ves configurado el perfil, asigando los clientes, storage y ubiación dedupe al momento de instalar el agente y correrlo comiensa a realizar un respaldo local pero no en red. Al ver los Logs del agente se puede ver el mensaje "Dedupe engine Offline". Al realizar un perfil y storage sin servidore dedupe este funciona correctamente. Estas pruebas ya las he realizado varas veces agregando ubicaciones y pools de deduplicación pero pasa el mismo problema. De antemano agradesco el apoyo que se a brindado. Saludos!

when launching a Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) client. "The Software is either not configured or has been disabled by your Administrator"
When I launch Symantec DLO client. i got an error which says "The Software is either not configured or has been disabled by your Administrator". and DLO Client windows shows Disabled. So therefore, I am unable to customize and none of my files are backed up. either on my desktop folderor Network folder. Please help me in this regard. Furthermore, My Symantec Desktop and Laptop Option license has expired. Thanks Regards

Symantec DLO 8.0 case study
Assuming that we want to deploy Symantec DLO on our HQ and for few branches by using single administrative console. Take note that we want to separate the storage/dedupe (each branch have their own storage) ; Do we need to deploy any separate edge/io server for each Branch ? What is the best practices recommendation ? If we have 2 storage location (1 HQ , 1 Branch) is there any storage synchronization function between the two storage ? Thanks in advance.

DLO 7.6 - Auding
Hello, Customer question "There was also an outstanding question regarding what logs are retained in the DLO DB that can be used to audit user activity." I have looked at the logs in DLO and there does not appear to be much in the way of auditing admin access. Is it possible to pull any other "audit" information from the DLO database? DLO 7.6 Dedupe Backups vs Non-Dedup Backups
Hello, I am still fairly new to DLO 7.6. I have a few questions: 1. If I am reading correctly a profile configured for dedupe cannot be configed for local backups (LUDF). Is this correct? 2. Non-dedupe backups require Admin service + maintenance service. Is this correct? 3. Dedupe backups require Admin service + Dedupe service. Is this correct? 4. A user can have either a profile for figured for dedupe or non-dedupe backups (LUDF and NUDF). What would be the use cases for each? Cheers, Cameron
