BIOS is not ACPI compatible
Hello all, I've got a problem with the backup exec system recovery disc 2010. When I try to boot with the CD (on USB CD Drive) or USB Key, I have this message : Status: 0xc0000225 Info : Windows failed to load beacause the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible. A kb on symantec website tells to change the option in the BIOS but I don't have any option about ACPI. http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH57513 I found that the CD BESR is a Windows PE 2.5 (Vista). But the hardware which I try to restore isn't compatible with vista. Is there any solution for this problem like a Windows PE XP ? Thanks.4.2KViews1like12CommentsWho supports MySymantec website?

I have two Server 2008R2DC's. Both have BESR 2010 ver.9.0.1.36527installed. One runs a backup at 10PM the other at 10:15PM. BESR 2010 has been installed for almost 7 months with no issues until 2 weeks ago. I have been receiving Event ID 4107 on both DCs at exact time the backup runs every night for the past 2 weeks. I have two other servers with BESR 2010 installed and are not experiencing these events (They are Server 2003R2 however) All backups seem to be completing fine.... We got massive Problems with the new Xentools 5.6 und BESR. After Installation of the Xentools 5.6 the SystemGui hangs ( for about 2 min you cannot do anything, then the System reacts for 1-2 sec.). If you stop the BESR services or go back to the 5.5 Version of the Xentools, everything is working fine again. We can reproduce the error on SBS 2003, 2008, WinXP... I open a thread here and on the Xenside, because i don't know who is guilty. All I know is, that we need a solution for this problem, because we have many combinations of Xen/BESR on customers side. I have one PC that fails it's backup every now and then with this particular error: Error EBAB03F1: The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file. I've been using a program called Processlock: (http://windowsxp.mvps.org/processlock.htm) to try to figure out what has the file locked, but I need to provide the exact file name in order to do so. I've found a few Symantec knowledge base documents about this error, but they always reference backing up to a network share/admin share as the issue and this isn't the case here as this is a local external drive. Is there anywhere where I can find more detailed logging to see what file actually is being locked and therefore cannot be accessed? My ISP recently blocked all SMTP traffic on port 25, so I no longer receive my BESR reports via e-mail. I need to change Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 to use SMTP port 587, but this is not an option in the software. I searched the registry to try and find a way to adjust it, but came up empty handed. I tried using an SMTP server of mail.server.com:587, but that didn't work. I tried changing the default SMTP port for Windows (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\services) and that didn't work... Hi, 1st post. We have recently installed Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 Management Console. We have deployed the Altiris Agent and the Backup Exec 2010 Plug in. We have a mixture of Server 2000/2003/2008R2 servers running BESR 8/8.5 and 2010. There are a group of servers that will not back up, the message they receive is as below (taken from Event Log) Error EC8F17B7: Cannot create recovery points for job: Fraserburgh Macrae. Error E7D1001F: Unable to write to file. Error EBAB03F1: The specified network name is no longer available. Error E7D10046: Unable to set file size. Permissions are correct and I can copy backup files between the server and NAS and the other way too. I have also amended the \\server\share to \\ipaddress\share to no avail. I have tried the articles listed via Google but am still at a loss as to what to do. If you are able to help that would be excellent as I have been struggling with Symantec Support for about 6 weeks for various issues with regards this installation.
