suggestion on index location almost full in enterprise vault 9.0 for MS Exchamge
Dear All, have 3 tried servers Enterprise vault application with indexing (localy configured ) SQL database EV Storage 2000 user mail box enable for archiving and 3000 mail boxes for journaling on enterprise vault. And also i have configured index location on local drive. Total hard disk size is 1 Tb; Use space for indexing is 850 GB only 150 GB free space remaining. How to increase existing hard disk size? We use Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 version 3.5.6907.221 Office 2003 is version 11.8330.8341 SP3 part of Microsoft Office professional Edition 2003 Office suite is XP ( word/ excel/ powerpoint 2002 (10.6866.6870) SP3 Enterprise Vault is 8.0 ( 8.0.4.2002.0.http) Hi, One of our users face an unique issue when trying to access the archived mails which has attachments. when he tries to open an attachment ( which was quite okay to be opened when he initially received the mail) on the archived mail, he gets the following attached error (please see attachment - "attachment error" ) As a method of troubleshooting, I removed the evclient addin and then readded it back with the following process - 1. msiexec /uninstall “I:\Symantec\Enterprise Vault\Outlook Add-In\8.0.18386\evclient80.msi” 2. msiexec /i “I:\Symantec\Enterprise Vault\Outlook Add-In\8.0.18386\evclient80.msi TRANSFORMS=“I:\Symantec\Enterprise Vault\Outlook Add-In\8.0.18386\Allianz02.mst” I also looked into the registry settings HKEY CURRENT USER > SOFTWARE > KVS > enterprise vault > Client > and renamed the ev cache in the shared location C: /DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS / ALL USERS / APPLICATION DATA / KVSCACHE / However, on relaunching the ev client by opening Outlook and synching, the attachments seem to have dissappeared altogether from the client. Very few mails now showed the attachments and they still had the same issue. However, on opening up Archive Explorer, I could see all the mails with the proper attachments and I could also open them. Could you please help me in resolving the issue, as I see it amongst customers on a regular basis. Hi People, Can anyone suggest to me what is the best way to manage and sustain the Enterprise Vault data that grow bigger and larger every month ? My situation is that whenever my Exchange Server 2007 database drive is running low of disk space, I'd go to lower down the EV archive items from 6 months into 5 months and now down to 3 months just to create some room to breathe in the Exchange Server mailbox. I understand that this is not resolving the problem in the best way as it should since we just shifting away the disk space usage from Exchange into the Enterprise Vault. However what are my options to manage and sustain the growing data in the EV ? Can i offload to tape for the Vault data disk and then deleting it manually, what happens with the indexing and search when the data is archived to tape and I want to retrieve it later for some reason ? Hi All, I have critical problem, I have 1390 targeted mailboxes , but each time I run archive task only 316 mailboes are proccesed and remaining 1074 were taken no action. In report I found mailboxes disableted But in actual all mailboxes are enabled Could someone will guide me how may I start workaround on this? Hi, I am having EV 11 for Exchange 2010 implemented. I am having a specific requirement which is as given below. 1. Archive all mail items from user mail box, which are older than 45 days. 2. Any new mail item arrived in my mailbox which is more than 1024KB, should get archive immediately after 1 day. 3. Retention for both of the above mentioned requirement is 1 Year As I understood, the above requirements I can configure in exchange mailbox policy. But parallely I also have below requirement for which I am looking for the help. Any mail which comming from helpdesk@test.com should get archive after 1 day. However, for these mails, the retention policy has to be 6 months I know, creating seperate folder in my Inbox for the helpdesk mails & applying specific policy, will work in this scenario. However, without creating folder, is there any way to configure the policy. I have tried custom filtering, but it didn't work. May be I would be doing some mistake while creating custom filter.
