Configuring NetBackup cloud storage with Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3)
Hi I am trying to configure Netbackup 7.6 cloud storage server with Amazon S3 on my local server. Both my media and master server is my localhost. My license is up to date. All the netbackup services are up and running. I've been working through the Netbackup Admin Guide for VMware and some on-line reading, but I'm still not clear on one point. Where it says : "Hot-add Transport You can think of hot-add transport as a special case of SAN transport where the backup host is also a virtual machine. The backup host VM accesses the VMDK objects of other VMs directly from the data store (similar to SAN transport). It can protect all VMs on datastores to which it has access." Is there something specific that needs to be done on the vmware configuration so that the VM, that is my backup hostm can access all the datastores for that ESX host ? Guys, What does a netbackup policy have. What information does it basically stores in it. And If i have to find out as a DBA what is the info in the backup policy .. how do i do that ? Netbackup deployment for cloud infrastructure
Hi All, I would like to know if anyone have deployed netbackup enviornment for cloud VMs like in Amazon, Azure, Openstack basically i would like to backup machines created inside cloud using backup software One soution i can think of - master, media both to be deployed in cloud and using cloud storage. In this case if i have multiple virtual private cloud, i need to dploy master and media in each VPC. So i would like to have a solution where i can - Deploy master server outside cloud enviornment Media server inside cloud. Storage devices like tape library or disk appliance outside cloud.. below is one sample diagram i have attached. kindly assist me on designing solution.2.5KViews0likes10Comments
