Netbackup deployment for cloud infrastructure
Hi All, I would like to know if anyone have deployed netbackup enviornment for cloud VMs like in Amazon, Azure, Openstack basically i would like to backup machines created inside cloud using backup software One soution i can think of -master, media both to be deployed in cloud and using cloud storage. In this case if i have multiple virtual private cloud, i need to dploy master and media in each VPC. So i would like to have a solution where i can - Deploy master server outside cloud enviornment Media server inside cloud. Storage devices like tape library or disk appliance outside cloud.. below is one sample diagram i have attached. kindly assist me on designing solution.
NetBackup 7.7 & Cloud integration
Hi, Currently running NBU v7.7.1 on RHEL platform an backing up to a mixture of Tape & Disk(HP B6200 & DataDomain) Our company is now looking at cloud based solutions to the backups, I have never used cloud with NetBackup but understand that this is an option using AWS S3 (our companies preffered provider) obvioulsy this could be an expensive option storing data soley in S3, Glacier is a cheaper option but as I understand this is not supported on NBU. I was just wondering is anyone is using the clous as their primary storage for NBU and if there are any public available case studies of how this an be deployed in an enterpriseenvironment Many thanks Kev
Use Amazon cloud for remote sites backups
We are planning to use Amazon Cloud (Web Services) to back up our remote sites. Hope someone can share your experience with us. We are currently on NBU 7.6.1.2. 1). Is the Amazon Colud a good chioce for us? Symantec does support a few clould vendors. 2). I assume we will still need network connections from all remote clients to master and media servers. Is there any cloud option to allow to backup remote hosts to it without network reqirement to master and media servers? 3). which one is better, local remote siteor centralmedia server? Since some remote sites are really small, we are planing to use one central server to back up multiple sites. 4. I heard NBU cloud does support Accelerator option but not deduplication (client & server) option. can someone confirm?
