Compatibility for linux
Hello team, I’m having a hard time in getting the compatibility for my red hat enterprise Linux server release 5.7(Tulanga) Version : 5.7 Kernel : 2.6.18-274.el5 I checked the compatiltiy scl for backup exec 20 but I’m sure how to see the kernel version on it It would be great if anyone could let me know if this version of Linux remote server is compatible with backup exec 20. Quick help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Backup Exec 15 and ESXi 5.0
Hi All, I am wondering if anyone can shed light on this, We currently run BackupExec 2012 and need to upgrade to BackupExec 15, do you know if we will still be able to backup and restore VMs from our ESXi 5.0 servers? I know the SCL doesn't list it but i was hoping it would still work. Thanks Grant
Capacity Licensing for BUE 2015
We currently use Symantec Backup 2010 / 2014 and purchase licenses on a per agent basis (as needed). Are company is growing and almost impossible to manage licenses anymore. I'd like to go the "Capacity Licensing" model, but now sure if our Quantum devices (Deduplication) will work with this type of licensing Also, does the capacity licensing model still provide licenses for SQL / Oracle agents? We also have a few sites, which use the DLO option. Is this also included? ThanksCan't upgrade from Backup Exec 2012 SP4 to 2015 due to deduplication option
ISSUE : Message Displays' While upgrading From BE 2012 SP4 to BE 15 MESSAGE :Deduplication Option is no longer licensed in this upgrade. You may not remove the license during the upgrade. To continue, either add a serial number for Deduplication Option, upgrade as trial, or remove the option in the previous version, then continue the upgrade Solution: Openregedit, navigate to: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\... Delete the \Puredisk\ registry key and it's child \Puredisk\Agent\. If you have never installed, trialed, used or licensed dedupe at all these keys will be completely empty of values Quit and re-run the Installation. The wizard should continue past this point and straight to the options screen. This should allow you to install/upgrade BE 15 with licenses the first time, without having to go through the trial install first. You are good to go
