Is there a way to manually change the LDAP address outside of the Clearwell application, i.e. a configuration file somewhere? The original LDAP settings pointed to a DC that has been decommissioned and needs to be updated to a current LDAP DC. Unable to log in using a local CW account because I noticed on another CW8.1 installation the local account radio button switched to "Enterprise" login after upgrading to 8.1 from 7.3 Thanks. I've just upgraded to Clearwell 8.1 from 7.1.3. I need to change the passwords for the local accounts that were created when on the previous version. When I go to System->Users and select a local CW account, there is no option to change the password, how can I accomplish this? TIA936Views0likes3Commentsallowed list of WSUS appliable patches
Hi, i want to start using an internal Wsus server for our clearwell servers, but i am wondering, can any Microsoft offered patch be applied? including the MS Office patches? are there certain patches that we need to exclude? If so, is there list of KB numbers that i should NOT apply to a Clearwell server? Are all MS updates tested for compatibility by Symantec? or does Symantec have a list of verified patches that are allowed to be applied?Solved1.2KViews3likes3CommentsClearwell email proxy address

My team is new to Clearwell and need some advise on creating tag sets. There is a "No Selection" default value created when adding a radio button sub-tag. Are there any ways to remove/disable this "No Selection" default value? Cheers!Solved582Views0likes1CommentClearwell Backup Best Practices
I know its probably taboo to post a quetsion like this and ask for information so many people arent willing to share (why I dont know), but I dont see why it hurst to ask. I am curious about best practices others are adhering to in backing up their cases/servers. Because of the current CW architecture, backups in my opinion are troublesome. Aside from random failures (i posted another topic about this) I have always found the process that is needed to fully backup and prepare for BR/DR to be very cumbersome with Clearwell. Do you agree? Hopefully v8 and the support of Virtualization will help this. But does anyone care to share how many days of backups they are keeping? Are you still doing node backups? And if so, why? Do you provide clients with specific terms&conditions about nightly backup windows, not allowing case/system access during certain times, and if not, how are you ensuring you get nightly backups and dont miss them because of clients accessing cases? How do you workaround/decide/manage taking backups vs processing or OCR'ing data overnight? You see where I am going with all this. There are more questions than this that I have been grappling with Clearwell for years. These are topics I find to be in constant flux, requiring constant revision, because there just doesnt seem to be a very efficient way of protecting/backing up the CW environment. Dont you agree? I thank you in advance for anyone willing to share, as I would be willing to do so in return. I am happy to conduct individual discussions privately if anyone is interested. If my contact info is not available in this profile, please respond here and we can coordinate a better way of communicating.1.1KViews0likes3CommentsClearwell RBAC (ROLE BASE ACCESS CONTORL)
ISSUE: We have many E-Discovery admins in a shared architecture - The problem is that they can add themselves to other cases. QUESTION: Can we make an E-discovery admin policy to only allow them to get to cases coded with XYZ********* cases? Can we allow them to create cases with a name code as well as only give out cases with their name type ex. XYZ can only get XYZ cases without being able to add to ABC cases or messing with ABC cases? The ideal: All XYZ type accounts that are e-discovery only can see XYZ cases and users, can build cases that are new. But can only be seen by XYZ. Likewise ABC users can do the same but can only act on items that are ABC based. Thank you!!!Solved654Views0likes1CommentADSCrawler.exe process invoked by terminated user
We're seeing in the Event log that the ADSCrawler.exe process looks like it's trying to run using an account of a user that has left the company. In AD, the account is disabled. On our Clearwell machine the event shows: <Begin>---------------------------------------------------------------------------- A logon was attempted using explicit credentials. Subject: Security ID: domain\service account Account Name: Service account Account Domain: Domain Name Logon ID: 0x2e0ca Logon GUID: {GUID} Account Whose Credentials Were Used: Account Name: <username of terminated user> Account Domain: Logon GUID: {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000} Target Server: Target Server Name: <Domain Controller Additional Information: <Domain Controller> Process Information: Process ID: 0xab0 Process Name: PathToADSCrawler\ADSCrawler.exe Network Information: Network Address: - Port: - This event is generated when a process attempts to log on an account by explicitly specifying that account’s credentials. This most commonly occurs in batch-type configurations such as scheduled tasks, or when using the RUNAS command. <End>--------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are no scheduled tasks or batches that I can see that is using this account. Is there a way to see if the ADSCrawler.exe process is configured to run as a specific account? What invokes this process. The Services MMC does not provide any info. Thanks514Views0likes1Comment
